We look very solid and dangerous on the break. Happy with that. Kane clearly feeling his way back into it, still expect him to bury any chance that comes his way.

What do people see in McTominay? He is so distinctively average, it is almost painful. He has his uses, yes, but if Solskjaer thinks he is the answer then we won't get anywhere.

If Solskjaer stays, I really hope he sees the light and realises that McTominay is nowhere near good enough for the first team.

Not a good first half. We are struggling for intensity, which I guess is due to having three months off. Spurs do look more at it than us though. They're working really hard off the ball. We are not being clever enough with possession to expose them. Pogba probably needs to come on to quarterback the team. Could also see Ighalo giving their centre backs a physical challenge our other forwards can't.

We’ve looked clueless under Ole when we concede first, can pretty much guarantee we won’t win when it happens. This doesn’t look any different.

Hope he makes changes at half time, Mctominay and James are waste of space now we are goal down and Spurs are going to sit back.

We don't deserve to be behind, but don't deserve to be in front either. Need to move the ball quicker and play higher risk passes into Fernandez and Martial; they have the ability to hold up the ball and turn players.

Ole won’t have the balls to put Pogba on now. He’ll wait till the 75th min.

Why is Ole repeating the same mistakes with Bruno as with Pogba? One source of creativity is easily nullified, especially with a limited pairing as Fred-McTominay. It's obvious that we need more creativity on the pitch.

Dominant first 20ish until their goal. Maguire and Lindelof asleep for Bergwijns run and useless from De Gea. Way too stop start since then.

Rashford and Bruno been pretty good, McTominay as well. Fullbacks not offering anything on the ball, Martial not involved, James nothing, Fred pretty much doing nothing as well.

Bring on Pogba and get it going like when we started. Stop the stupid fouls as we can't build any momentum with them.

Good to be back all the same though, even if we're losing.

Incredibly frustrating. Lack of fitness and sharpness.

spurs got better as the game went on, we got worse.

Mctominay can't pass the ball to save his life. Maguire with a massive error. Unlike him.

Martial looks like he hasn't broken a sweat. Just no abililty to hold up the ball or bring others into play. What an easy job marking him. No wonder we wanted to bring in Haaland.

The break has done as poorly. We are back to square one again. I really doubt we can get top four via the league. Maybe if we're lucky via Europa.

The Dea Gea mistake looks even worse on replay, really really odd technique to try and punch the ball away there.

Happening way too often with him these days, he's still capable of making great saves but it's simply too many poor errors now.

I don't think he should be number 1 next season.

Moss telling our players “it’s only the second foul” to justify not booking Lamela and then books James for his first foul. fecking idiot.

Mistake to drop Matic, he gives us composure and experience from deep and was in good form. McTominay has struggled big time.

Understandably rusty, but not good enough. Bruno has been the sole bright spot. De Gea made a good save off Son’s header, but he has to make the earlier save. Horrid defending from MaGuire for the goal. Martial and James have been woeful. Rashford should have scored. Generally, very poor movement and passing. Get James off - he‘s of little use in a game like this. Hopefully the second half is better.

When things get tough, another silent domination by our main striker.
But hey.. we can afford another two or more seasons of him. Just in case he turns world beater.

We look disinterested. The ball is bouncing away from all of them, and the goal was a collection of errors.
De Gea has shown once again that he’s not up to it anymore, although I don’t think anybody has played well.
Greenwood and Pogba on asap, maybe Ighalo too it Martial doesn’t get into the match.

Spurs have defended space very well so far, very aggressive. We haven’t had much final third possession at all, and when we have had it in the wide areas we haven’t been able to do anything.

Pogba on for McTominay who’s not up to scratch yet.

We need more quality on the ball even if it means shaw and AWB tuck in more to help out, Pogba has to get on the pitch

This game is going exactly how I knew it would. Mourinho happy to sit back and absorb pressure. So James' speed is useless. As I said in a post a few days ago, Mata should be starting on the right. Pogba should be starting too. Perhaps that's about fitness? Martial has also been brutal. Mind you I guess you have to do something to be brutal. What really pissed me off was when I saw Bruno chasing down the players that Martial should have been chasing while Martial stood there and watched. And the goal...where to start? First Maguire gets caught flat footed but I will give him a break because he's been good for us. Then Fred should have fouled him well before he got into the 18, but I will give him a break because he's been good too. But De Gea....that shot was straight at him. How many goals is he going to cost us before he gets pulled?

Maguire was awful for the goal and Neville didn't say a word about him, he is a joke.

McTominay is a bad passer. Rashford is making basic mistakes. James is still not a good player and Bruno is being marked out of the match which effectively makes us toothless.

Yeah everyone's very rusty but Spurs got a lucky goal and have hardly been in the game.

    We can still win this.

We are only allowed one creative player on the pitch at a time. It's our new club quota.

He’s a squad player not a automatic starter really, but just like Fred if we want to be a top team again we have to be upgrading in those positions.

Ole's clearly tried to carry on the good feels from before lockdown. It's not working out so far.

Can't say we can have too many complaints. Most were happy with the lineup when it was announced and had he gone with a back 5 people would have slated him.

He's got to change something, but let's not jump in too blindly.
Good thing we can make five subs!

We look a bit rusty. That goal seems to have knocked the team a bit as well.
Mentally fragile still. But better than before.

Bruno is a one man machine just looking to carry us. Rashford looks out of it. Martial back to his usual static self. James can run, but his final ball is still lacking.

I think this is swept under the rug a lot since we hit a bit of form before the break. Let's see if he can get a response out of what is now a full strength team.

Lots of reasons. You simply don't play James unless we play counter attacking game. You don't play an attaching game against a Jose team. Our set up is all wrong. Yes Bailly has plenty of pace but we don't know how he would have played. Scott and Fred are both not defensive or holding midfield players.
Why didn't we play two up front and play Magic in the midfield and pushed Bruno a bit forward?
Tactically we have been very poor. Extremely poor.

Def need pogba on for mctominay. Kept trying to understand the idea that Bruno alone would be able to create enough when we had that same issue with pogba alone. Especially against a mou team that was gonna sit deep.
Exactly. Some people just never got this. Bruno alone is not enough for creativity. I kept mentioning that even in our good run before the break, games such as the Everton one and Wolves showed that we need more creative players alongside Bruno.

Fred and James the worst of the lot by far for me. DDG and Maguire shocking on the goal. Goal was undeserved but since then they've had us on strings. If we want any chance we need to move the ball about 5x faster, no clue what happened to the fast playing out of the back from pre-quarantine. We're so off the pace.

Was surprised we didn't play 5-3-2 considering it allows us to be more defensively stable and give enough space to the attackers. This formation looks too rigid with both Mctominay and Fred offering nothing attack wise. Martial and James have been piss poor which has made our job even more tough.
