Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, commonly referred to simply as Tottenham or Spurs (and nicknamed The Lilywhites), are a professional football club based in Tottenham, London. The Hotspur Football Club was formed in 1882 by a group of school boys, mostly aged 13 to 14, from Tottenham Grammar School and Saint John's Middle Class School who were members of the Hotspur Cricket Club formed two years earlier. Initially, the boys that formed Hotspur Football Club played games between themselves and friendly matches against other local clubs. The team entered their first cup competition in the London Association Cup, and won their first competitive match on 17 October 1885. The club turned professional on 20 December 1895, and in the summer of 1896 they were admitted to the Division One of the Southern League. On 2 March 1898, the club also became a limited company, the Tottenham Hotspur Football and Athletic Company.

Tottenham were the first club in the 20th century to achieve the League and FA Cup Double, winning both competitions in the 1960-61 season. After successfully defending the FA Cup in 1962, in 1963 they became the first British club to win a UEFA club competition – the European Cup Winners' Cup. In 1967, Spurs won the FA Cup for a third time in the 1960s. In the 1970s Tottenham won the League Cup on two occasions and were the inaugural winner of the UEFA Cup in 1972, becoming the first British club to win two different major European trophies. In the 1980s Spurs won several trophies: the FA Cup twice, FA Community Shield and the UEFA Cup in 1984. In the 1990s the club won the FA Cup and the League Cup. When they won the League Cup once more in 2008, it meant that they had won a major trophy in each of the last six decades – an achievement only matched by Manchester United.

Tottenham supporters have rivalries with several clubs, mainly within the London area. The fiercest of these is with north London rivals Arsenal (with matches between them termed the North London derby). They also share notable rivalries with fellow London clubs Chelsea and West Ham United. Tottenham play their home games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

We’ll probably see the same team unless Varane is back. Ole won’t have the balls to drop Maguire either. Something is not right with him. Playing with an injury?

I'm not confident Ole is manager for this match. But if he is he'll play the same team and tell them to prove everyone wrong.

Thing is. How do you stop Maguire and Shaw from making these schoolboy errors? Their form is beyond shocking.

If Ole is still here then make a fecking change. Something is clearly not working.

The best teams have the best foundation. At the moment, we're dreadful defensively at the moment, therefore we must solidify our base.

Go with a 352 or 343 and try and restore some confidence in the team.

    Rashford Ronaldo Sancho
    Shaw Matic Fred Wan-Bissaka
    Maguire Lindelof Bailly
    De Gea

    OR

    Rashford Ronaldo
    Bruno
    Shaw Matic Fred Wan-Bissaka
    Maguire Lindelof Bailly
    De Gea

Start with the same team. They played well against Atalanta.
The ATTACKING aspect of the team is working very well. We created plenty of chances against Liverpool and notably Atalanta. Effeciency is another topic but we create enough to win.

The issue that needs adressing, and 2 weeks ago is the defense and center midfield who keeps spitting out colossal personal mistakes that cost us goals en masse.

Harry Maguire is playing poorly. Luke Shaw (way more worryingly) is devoid of confidence.

I'm at a loss here. Everyone needs to pull themselves up by their god damn bootstraps and put heir bigboy pants on.

You can’t say the attack is playing well if it is at the expense of team balance. The attack needs to play well in a balanced team, not a suicidal 4-2-4 that hasn’t worked for weeks now.

I meant in relation to offensive output. Defensive contribution primarily fail at the D and centermidfield.

But as for balance, I genuinely think we're a worse team with Ronaldo. Except for some occasional heroics, we're pressing with 1 man less and it affects the entire chain down to the centerbacks.

I'm sorry. Fred getting tiki taka'd to death in midfield has nothing to do with his personal errors, neither are our fullbacks getting 2 on 1'd. We're tactically clueless. We don't know how to defend in a low block properly and we don't know how to press as a team. Our pressing can be summed up by Fred running at the ball and trying to win it.

There is no pattern to our attack. It's hoping the best attacking players in the world (and they are that) pull a rabbit. We do get something done in attack because Rashford, Bruno etc are just that good.

We knew how to defend very well last year with the same players. Why do you imagine that knowledge has disappeared?

We can't leave it to Spurs to get Ole sacked, they'll bottle it and gift Ole the win that will buy him more months in the job.

Spurs play tedious negative football, so I'm expecting an ugly game. Hopefully we are on the right side of the result.

Can we honestly expect anything different then the shit show from today?

Have we ever played anything other then a 4213?

    Can Ole even fathom a 352? Or a 343?

    When is Varane back?
A 3 backline with Lindelof Varane and Bailly?
    Donny?

    A

    Henderson
    Bailly Varane Lindelof
    Sancho VDB Bruno Fred Rashford
    Cavani Greenwood

You thought we defended well last year!?

Shaw, Maguire, McTominay are terribly out of form/rushed back from injury.

Coaching. See Tuchel with Chelsea's defence if you don't believe me. The problem is, you seem to see many of our issues and scratch your head over it, but can't put 2 + 2 together and see that a top coach solves most of these issues.

I bet Nuno can't wait to play us. Nice 3 points and some pressure off him.

    Kane to score too.

    Dig up stupid!
A part of me would take 0-0 right now.
Forget looking up the table or closing gaps the priority right now is to stop giving up constant easy chances game in game out. Play deep, pack the midfield, stink the place out. If we nick it then great but we absolutely cannot get involved in another end to end shit fest.

Any recovery is one step at a time and I want a clean fckin sheet goddammit

I'm surprised how few on here understand football.

We didn't beat Liverpool because we didn't score enough goals. We clearly need to start our next game with a 3 -1 - 6 formation.
