Tranmere Rovers Football Club (nicknamed Super White Army, The Rovers or The Whites) is a professional association football club based in Birkenhead, Merseyside, England. Tranmere Rovers were, initially, formed as Belmont Football Club when the football arms of two cricket clubs – Lyndhurst Wanderers and Belmont – came together in 1884. The Club won its first match against Brunswick Rovers 4-0 on November 15, 1884. Less than one year later, the Club changed its name to Tranmere Rovers Football Club and took to the pitch in blue shirts and white shorts at Steeles Field on Borough Road, Birkenhead. By 1887, Rovers had moved ground to Ravenshaws Field, which was later renamed Prenton Park.

Under John Aldridge, Tranmere experienced a number of cup runs, most notably reaching the 2000 Football League Cup Final. Other cup runs include reaching FA Cup quarter-finals in 2000, 2001 and 2004. Despite being geographically closest to Everton and Liverpool, Tranmere's time in the lower leagues has meant that they have rarely met either club and have built up traditional rivalries with near neighbours Chester, Wrexham and Southport, all of whom are now non-league clubs. Tranmere fans listed the more distant Bolton Wanderers and Oldham Athletic as their biggest rivals, followed by Everton, Liverpool and Crewe Alexandra. Tranmere play their home games at Prenton Park, which also hosts Liverpool's women and reserves teams.

Happy they ended up winning. Yeah you never know against lower teams in the cup... but it's a 3rd division side in the relegation zone. Should be able to grind out a win.

    Dalot Bailly Maguire Shaw
    Matic Fred
    Mata Gomes Lingard

Definitely need to rotate for this one, got a few younger players in need of minutes and plenty of regulars in need of a break. I would go with

    Romero
    Dalot Bailly Jones Shaw
    Garner Fred
    Chong Gomes Lingard
    Greenwood

Maguire needs a rest. Definitely wouldn't put him on that pitch. Not really looking forward to Bailly and Jones playing but not got much choice there.

Extremely dodgy pitch. Save the ones we can't afford to get injured. Use the likes of Bailly, Jones, Mata, Pereira, Lingard.

There’s no way we will get through a match on that pitch with Jones and Bailly not picking up 3 injuries between them.

Genuinely think this might be an upset and the beginning of the end for Ole.

Not bothered in the slightest. Most of the players, manager, board, owners are all shit.

I think we should go for it, but still rotate a bit.

    Romero
    Dalot Jones Bailly Williams
    Pereira Matic
    Greenwood Mata Lingard
    Martial

The bench will be pretty awful too. Although I think it might be time to give Fred a rest
here since we need him in all the hard games. Could maybe give Gomez or Chong a game. They have never impressed me much though, but now might be the time.

Imagine we put many of the regularly injured players on the pitch (as apparently it's horrible, no idea myself):

    Romero (he's fine)
    Dalot - Bailly - Tuanzebe - Shaw
Matic - Fred (both should be ok)
    Mata (old so who knows)
    Lingard - Martial - James
I left Jones out as he has apparently been injured just hearing about the pitch.

Just saw the highlights of them vs Watford and that pitch doesn't seem to have any grass on it. Passing will be nearly impossible and have to hope no one gets a bad injury on that pitch.

Once upon a time they were a long throw team. If they bombard our box, I fear the worst.

Rest as many first-teamers as we can - we can’t risk the injuries, plus giving some players the weekend off is desperately needed.

The sad fact is – if Ole plays the current "best" squad (the one against Burnley) none of us can be certain that we can actually beat the Tranmere whatever FC. And we played our best squad against Wolves in the previous round, so we did care about FA Cup back then. Not sure why we wouldn't now - just because it's not Wolves? Weird.

    Play the kids.... oh, feck!

All the pressure is us and it’ll show if we play our 1st team. It might be better to play non regulars as they may have more passion and less fear.
I don’t know though. This season has been a rollercoaster so far.

Tranmere are going to be riding a massive high into this. We're on a 7 year downer. Could be a loss for the ages

We can't win this competition anyway so who cares really. Woodward out

Our U21 played against them in EFL cup, lost 3-2 with Chong scoring both goals.
