After Fernandes performances for West Ham in the last few weeks he seems to be emerging as a potential target for the midfield, potentially in a cut price deal if West Ham were to go down.

Looking through the other squads down that end of the table are there any other players people would be interested in taking a look at that could be a cheap option if their club is relegated?

Some of the more interesting players listed below...

Wolves - João Gomes (25)
Burnley - Ugochukwu (22)
West Ham - Summerville (24), Diouf (21), Fernandes (21), Bowen (29)
Forest - Anderson (23), Gibbs-White (26), Jesus (25)

Are there any others people think we should be taking a look at?

Leeds have a bit of breathing space so might avoid the drop but i like Ampadu if he was available

Matheus Mane from Wolves
Todibo from West Ham
Hudson-Odoi from Forest

Van de Ven, Anderson and Fernandes would be great pick-ups.

Murillo another potential target from Forest

Wolves are all but relegated and they also started planning for Championship with their signings in Jan. So, Joao Gomes/Andre from them as a rotation option in midfield. Preferably Gomes. I hope we don't turn our noses up like we did for Berge just cause they played for a relegation team.

Van de Ven
If even vaguely possible do it. I'd sacrifice Maguire and Martinez and Shaw to get him in. Yoro/Heaven/VDV+1 youth CB+Maz is enough, we overstack in CB positions.

Yeah, If you’re any top club you should be all over him in the summer.

There is a huge disconnect between the reputation of Van De Ven in this thread and his actual work on the field .

I wouldn't touch anyone from that Spurs team with a barge pole. The departures of Kane and Son have shown the rest of them for the level they really are (i.e. shite).

Fernandes is a good shout.
He looks pretty raw but he's too good for the Championship.
I'd get him in instead of Baleba.

Agreed. Just because he has a few positive clips of him running up with the ball and being super quick.
Not convinced by his actual defending as yet

Anderson, Summerville and Van Der Ven.

But it seems likely we'll keep Maguire and if so, De Ligt/Martinez/Maguire/Heaven/Yoro is pretty solid. But I really like Van Der Ven's speed and if he'd be willing to be a squad man for us and we've got the budget for him after Anderson and Summerville, let's bring him in. No chance, however, that he's good enough to be a regular starter for United in light of the options we currently have.

Yeah. He feels like a proper highlight merchant.
Yeah he has some potential but he isn't that good at his actual job .

It's de, not Der. And it's van de Ven, and only one of the v's is capitalized. Sorry!

Says a lot about Spurs that you can look at their squad and nobody even stands out as an obvious option in this scenario.

But have you seen how fast he runs, mate?

Meanwhile...

Martinez cheats a bit on his aerial duels because he simply doesn't compete for that many and leaves it to Maguire, but in every other way (aside from being able to run really fast) he's a better CB.

People just love really obvious physical traits.

The quality spread across the league these days is wild. Imagine having Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi, Anderson, Jesus and all, and yet find yourself fighting relegation

Just a bit. He'd probably do okay if he got a move but nowhere near good enough to justify some of the hype around him

I'm prepared for pelters for this but I don't mind that Argentine spurs CDM that's injured ATM. Can't recall his name
