Transfer targets from relegation threatened clubs

This is a wild shout. He’s been absolutely horrific for them.
I know a lot of West ham fans who would put him very far down the list of problems at the back. Mavrapanos and Kilman have been the weak links - ther latter has completely gone to shit. I think Todibo and Disasi will make a great pairing as they compliment each other.

I don't see anyone at Wolves being able to raise the floor, not even Gomes, they are just squad fillers, but some excellent young players at Forest and West Ham that could or would, become first team regulars.
At 29 Bowen would be a tremendous addition to Cunha, Bruno & Mbuemo

West Ham - Diouf (21), Fernandes (21), Bowen (29)
Forest - Anderson (23), Murillo (23)

Summerville from West Ham would be a great attacking option, loves to be inside the opponents box, high shot creating actions and key passes, qualities that align well with our need for more flair, goals, and creativity from wide areas.

He wouldn’t solve our midfield worries, but if he became available or showed interest in a move the board would be fools not to put some cash on the table.

Not exactly relegation-threatened - but after watching Rayan twice - I am convinced he will end up as a striker in a BIG club. The way he took those goals......they got themselves a quality-player

I came in to say much the same thing. Great move from Bournemouth to get such a highly rated youngster.

Is he only 21? I’d assumed he was much older, looks mid 20s. I’d definitely look at him. Has looked more than decent and has the physical attributes that are essential at the moment.

Not a fan of Van de Ven, he's just been good against us a few times and has a great highlight reel. Think he'd be a better left back from the little I've seen of him.

I quite like Sarr, Bergvall and Gray from that squad, all as young talents who'd be great squad players. The trouble with Spurs is that there's nobody senior leading the way for these promising youngsters now, post Kane & Son.

Anderson, Murillo, Milenkovic, Mane, Fernandes, Summerville, Diouf all worth a look from elsewhere.

Keepers - Sam Johnstone (Wolves), good backup with PL expereince, would be cheap, English quota and former acdemy player

Defence - Murillo (Forest) or Van der Ven (Spurs)

Midfield - Andeson & Gibbs-White (Forest)

Forward - Summerville (West Ham) if he players like how he did against us, would be a fantastic signing

If Spurs somehow get relegated then the player to sign from them is Vuskovic, to be a future potential Maguire replacement.

Heck, United should probably chance their arm and try signing him anyway.

Neco Williams would be a nice FB pick up if cheap. He can play on both sides and is very attacking with decent delivery and the occasional goal in him. More of a rotational option maybe but we need that in a larger squad and he is better than Dalot at the very least.

After his performance against us I would be over the moon with Mateus Fernandes. I think he could come in and play in a 2 man midfield with Kobbie, and he would be less expensive than some of the other CM options that get mentioned, like Baleba, Anderson or Tonali.

If the price was the same for all of them, I would go with Baleba. But I might be holding on and overrating the few matches I watched of him last season.

But considering the needs of the squad I think it would be very smart business to get Fernandes in for CM. Then we can have more cash available for other tricky positions.

Oh, and since Wolves are going down we should take a punt on that kid Mateus Mane.

And I think the Spurs players are listed just as a joke, but if it was possible I would love us to sign Pape Matar Sarr. Hes a brilliant young CM and it never hurts having brilliant players on the squad.

Andre and Joao Gomes from Wolves would both be excellent additions providing we can also land one of the higher tier options we have lined up. Andre could actually develop into a just below world class midfielder IMO, and there has been talk in Brazil about him succeeding Casemiro in the national team. Mateus Fernandes would be another good option with a high ceiling, but West Ham might be able to loan him out next season and sell him for a lot more in the future if they bounce straight back up. From Burnley possibly Hartman to backup Dorgu if that means freeing up money for higher quality midfielders and a left winger. It's a little too early for Ugochukwu but in a few years time, if he goes to an established mid table club and does well, might be someone worth looking at.

That's the chap. Could have SWORN I typed it but apparently not! This week can't finish soon enough!
He's been hit pretty hard by injuries over the last few years but he was on his way to becoming one of the best midfielders in the league at Spurs before injuries and Ange completely derailed his trajectory. I remember being a bit surprised Spurs managed to land him at the time.

Agreed. His injuries are definitely a red flag but as a player (when he plays!) I like him. Got a bit of bite to him but can also play a bit.

That's a really good shout and would be uncharacteristically clever for us. I'd rather have him and Dorgu rotating on the left wing than spending $80 million on Diomande.

Seems a very unique player. Wouldn’t really expect to see a 19 year old 6ft2 Brazilian to fly in at the back post with a bullet header.

This is how the Spurs' website has it:

Micky van de Ven has quickly - literally - established himself as one of the best central defenders around since his arrival from VfL Wolfsburg in August, 2023 - and developed a central defensive partnership alongside Cuti Romero that is rated amongst the best in the Premier League.

I'm not so sure about the claim that Micky is "one of the best central defenders around...". but a bit of hyperbole is allowable under the circumstances. That said, I wouldn't mind having him as a fifth choice behind De Ligt, Martinez, Heaven and Yoro if Maguire left for another club.

From Spurs, I actually like both their first choice fullbacks - Porro and Udogie. Could add some attacking threat on the right and lots of pace to defend transition on the left.

Mateus Fernandes from West Ham to rotate/compete with Mainoo. West Hams left back as well.
Anderson from Forest obviously big target anyway.
Joao Gomes from Wolves to backup Mainoo if we're bargain hunting.

Wouldn't bother with anyone else.

There is a huge disconnect between the reputation of Van De Ven in this thread and his actual work on the field .
agreed. He's quick but I don't think he's that good in defending. Also too many hamstring injuries that will keep him out for double digit games each season

I like Bergvall from Spurs, but I guess it's the Swede in me that's talking. Don't know how he would fit in the team either.

Matheus Mane from Wolves
Todibo from West Ham
Hudson-Odoi from Forest

West Ham would be lucky if they can give Todibo away for free. Terrible player for them

already mentioned but obvious candidates are Fernandes, Murillo, Diouf, Sommerville, Gibbs-White, Mane.. quite a lot of decent options actually

What are they gonna be honest and say he's physically gifted but doesnt use those gifts very well and his defending isnt very good? Jesus.

He's not though, he's just not good in the air. Mavrapanos and Kilman are the ones nobody will buy.

That’s a good shout. He’s a prospect. Think the same with Gray. Would be happy with either of them alongside a more established midfielder like Anderson coming in.
