Was Kepa really a disaster other than refusing to sub himself off the pitch? He's the most expensive goalkeeper in the world for a reason, isn't he? Perhaps he needs another year to sort himself
He has the worst save percentage in the entire league, by quite a distance. It's a fair embarrassment for the most expensive keeper in history even though his cost clearly was little to do with how good he is, but more Chelsea's desperate need to quickly sign a keeper after Courtois fled to Madrid, and Bilbao's lack of need to sell.

Under soil heating.
Hmmm bit worrying this is coming from such a strong source as Cooper. Will have to see what he said about other possible signings this summer now.
I think he's only viewed as strong because he works for Sky & stands outside Old Trafford in the rain on TV. Hasn't he been less reliable for some time now?

Oblak to Chelsea would be... not good. Best goalkeeper in the world in my opinion. I hope they stick with the funnel that is Kepa for another year.

I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that Chelsea might end up getting Ziyech, Werner, Havertz and Oblak in one window.

I’d be surprised if Chelsea get Oblak as I can’t see Atletico selling for less than the release clause. I suspect they’ll get Onana, as Pope would cost £10-20m more for English tax.

I can't see the Oblak thing happening.

They really need to sort out their defence if they want to kick on. They are shocking at the back.

Chelsea are a team that will spend money, we haven't seen it for a while but Roman will not be happy with 4th.

He wants the league and CL.

Didn't their main Journo link them to Chillwell and Koulibailly as well?

I understand they had a transfer ban last Summer and so can do a bit more than the other top clubs. But even in two Summers, the amount they'd spend to pull that off would be ridiculous.

Me too mate, mainly cos those are exactly the players I would have gone for. Hope we can pull something out of the bag this window

Well. They sold Luiz, Morata & Hazard only bought Kovacic & Pulisic. Their net spent before signing those four probably £100m positive. So £100m plus their last summer budget and plus this summer budget should be about £300m more or less for their budget which about the total of those four players.

For me as a Chelsea fan, hearing reporters say Chelsea is interested in Oblak is a bit like them saying Chelsea is interested in Mbappe. Like, yeah, anyone would be interested! But there is ZERO chance we're going to sign Oblak or Mbappe.

As for Kepa, it's really puzzling for me. Last season under Sarri he was perfectly fine. He was actually borderline great for the most part. If you remember he was playing well enough to claim Spain's #1 shirt. But then this season it all changed out of nowhere. He was never a keeper who commanded his area physically but he was a good shot stopper. This season you feel every shot could go in.

Can see him going on loan back to Spain and rehabilitating his reputation. There's a good keeper in there but he needs to regain his confidence.

Don't forget they spent £60m on Kepa and £60m on pulisic.

Agreed. Their attack will be mint, though, not to mention getting Oblak would go a long way to make them better defensively.

Particularly on top of a pandemic that seems to have hit almost every other club.

Whatever way they find the money for it, it’s an amazing window if they land Oblak and Havertz as well.

It does make for a very interesting coming season, especially if you manage to get Sancho and City do what City does.

If we can’t get Grealish, I’d get him as our rotational attacker. Willian/Grealish + Sancho would be lovely.

Only problem is he supposedly wants a 3 year contract at the age of 32.

Didn't Chelsea pay €60.00m for Kepa?
You don't buy someone for that much money and let him go one season later, especially with no takers.

We are the only fanbase which goes crazy over any above average English players.

A lot of our fanbase will justify spending the same money on Grealish as what Chelsea will play for Havertz.

Grealish vs Havertz
Age 24 vs 21
7goals vs 12goals
16 chances vs 30 chances

Grealish wins on yellow cards 8 to 3.

Our fanbase needs to stop muppeting purely based of nationality.
But key here is that they are completely different types of player

If Chelsea sign Oblak, then perhaps De Gea can go back to Atletico and we can get a fee for him while we can get back Dean as number 1? Win win i think. But Oblak will make Chelsea a lot more stronger
Or maybe DeGea - oblak could swap clubs hmm

I think it was 70-75M. Cannot remember if it's euro or pounds
Crazy money either way, I don't think they can get rid of him and sign another keeper that would cost similar money.. that'd be stupid

If we would want Smalling then Roma's price for him would be 50m.

If Roma can't pay 18m for him then other clubs will do that.
I agree, the pressure is also on Roma to agree it soon if they want him in the Europa league.

And it’s not as the price is prohibitive - in fact it is not. 18m for a good experienced defender is a fair price, would be much higher if he was 3-4 years younger

Less than 15m and we might as well have him back.
I would take him back, pile this years entire summer budget on Sancho and a world class DM to rotate with Matic. This would help negate the need for a CB in this window as you would expect our back four to feel the benefit of top quality DM's in front of them.
