It’s similar to Nico Gonzalez (23) last summer: If Sasa should get offers that he can do much better, then we are in a position to offer something against it and also a contract extension for a year. We know how good he is. We will hold talks with Sasa by summer at the latest, either before or after the European Championship. If he plays a lot and well, he can already grow financially; there is room for improvement within his current contract.

It was looking inevitable but it's still irritating as we could have held off buying a Striker for another season.
Only thing annoying about this is that we should have brought him here years ago
Doesn't sound like the Glazers at all!I hope that United don't use the collapse of the ESL as a reason to unapologetically spend nothing at all this summer.
"Well we had a plan to make billions, you guys fecked it for us, enjoy another 5 years of not having a right winger"
If we don't go big for a striker, and trust Martial for another year, I really think Danny Ings would be worth a look into, his movement is fantastic and knows the the goal is. Martial, Ings, Greenwood would be adequate enough if we want to fully strengthen the RW, midfield and a centre back with the possibility of competition for AWB also.It was looking inevitable but it's still irritating as we could have held off buying a Striker for another season.

Sounds like Barca are taking him for a ride. Given their financial situation and how it's clearly known how much he wants to go back to Barca seems like they are trying to take advantage of that.
A report that two reputable london based Argentinian journos said he extended his contract. Not sure why its deleted now. Hopefully its trueDeleted for me. What's this?

It's a shame that the Tweet got deleted. Are you able to somehow recover the link that the Tweet cited? At least we'd be able to hear what they have to say if so.A report that two reputable london based Argentinian journos said he extended his contract. Not sure why its deleted now. Hopefully its true

It said that two well-connected/reliable Argentinian journalists are claiming that Cavani's contract with United has been extended to 2022 (in contrast to other reports from reliable people suggesting it has not/will not). His = Cavani?
I guess all will be revealed fairly shortly. There aren't that many top striker options for buying clubs this summer and we have a lot of holes elsewhere in the squad, so it would probably be good to keep him for another 12 months and spend a bit on midfield/defence instead.Though not sure why it's Argentinian's journos instead of the Uruguayan ones? Unless Boca briefed them or something
