That's a boatload of money for Karlsruhe. He's a good young keeper, but I always felt his main redeeming quality was his age.
Actually even our record transfer! Previous one was €3.5m despite selling Kahn and Scholl to Bayern!

Pope is 33 years old. Trafford is 22 and already operating at a pretty good level despite his hard time in the PL first time around. It's good forward planning.
