Imagine wanting to be taken seriously for a Brazil NT spot while at 25, flushing your club career down the toilet for Saudi cash.
Yeah but then his great great great great great great grandkids can be millionaires. He’s a family man. Only thinking about them.

For the moment, PSG remains the favourite in the Franco Mastantuono file.
  • Paris has already exchanged [information] with the player/River Plate and knows all the conditions to trigger his release clause of 45M€
  • In the last few hours, Real Madrid has been asking whether the deal with PSG was already closed or not.
  • The next few days will be important

Of course they have. Haven't got anyone to promote from the academy again, so, as always they'll buy their kids in galactico style.
It's hard to tell how good this kid really is or how good he can become. When I watch him, I mainly see potential rather than being ready now. Which is normal given that he is just 17, about to be 18. He obviously has a ton of developing, and potentially growing still to do. Watching him I am struck by what I would call the overall package, in that he seems to be really good at almost everything, rather than being exceptional at any one thing. That probably signals that he could become a very complete attacking midfielder. His highlights packages obvious focus a lot on his dribbling, footwork and running with the ball, and his proclivity for a long shot. His shooting seems pretty inconsistent - again, normal for his age - and his dribbling seems to rely on a combination of a good touch, but a lot of physicality, bulldozering his way through at times. 90% of the dribbles I've seen in those highlight reels would not be achievable in the PL, because the additional size, strength and speed of opponents would shrug him off the ball. But again he's 17.

If he plays the same way in 2-3 years, with additional size and strength, then he could become exceptional. I say this because his dribbling style doesn't seem to rely on exceptional technique in the way a smaller, lower center of gravity, player might. In fact his technique looks very good, but not great, in the videos I've seen. He definitely looks like a player who, if signed for a PL club, would be best sent out on loan to an easier league, so he could develop. Say Holland or Belgium. I think he might initially struggle with the size and speed of some of the opponents in France, because he doesn't seem particularly quick (not slow either).

Be interesting to see how he develops. I haven't paid much attention to him until now. I've read tons and tons of hype, about how he's the next Maradona etc., but that really doesn't come across in the videos I've seen. But we all know they can be deceptive (both in exaggerating strengths, and hiding them). I'd love to hear more informed analysis from regular watchers of the Argentinian League.

  • The 24-year-old defender joined Juventus from AC Milan last summer on a loan deal worth €3.5 million, and has impressed in Turin.
