Transfer Tweets - Manchester United - 2024/25

Getting rid of Rashford (40m), Sancho (25m) and Anthony (25m), freeing up about 700k a week and bringing in Delap (30m) and Cunha (62.5m) for their release clauses would be decent business.
This is precisely what we need to do this summer.

I'd be surprised if these 3 did leave the club for that. I think sancho will be returned, Rashford I think is 50/50 but in my head I am resigned to him not being permanent at villa. Antony I'd be surprised if Betis made permanent over a second loan.

Prevent us from being overrun in every single game ? - at the moment we have Eriksen who will leave, Casemiro who probably will leave, Mainoo whose future is insecure - that leaves us with Bruno, Collyer and Ugarte (maybe Mainoo and Mount who can stay injury-free 2 months at best).

I would much rather start the next season with Onana and Altay and 1 new quality midfielder - than I would with those midfielders and a new goalkeeper.

But - of course we need both
Me, as a fan is never comfortable with Onana in goal so i can see what the entire defense might feel. You are shaky when your goalie has butter fingers.

Meanwhile in the real world we'll get all three back in the summer, still impossible to sell, and just £5 million to show for it.

Sancho is joining Chelsea. They won't renege. Rashford and Antony deals are more difficult but they are both doable. Rashford's Barcelona wish is a pipe dream so his only realistic options this summer are Villa or bench. If he has any sense, he will agree to join Aston Villa.

On Antony the hope is that this patch at Betis has made him attractive to the other tier 2 clubs in Spain line Villareal, Valencia and Sevilla and maybe even attractive to Atletico Madrid.

Probably only atletico can afford him out of them teams you mentioned. They have just spent a shed load on Alvarez though.

You are shaky in defence when your opponents run straight through your midfield as well....like we played last season under ETH, it doesn't matter who you have in goal if you give your opponents 15 chances each game - they will eventually score.

We'd only be marginally better off than we currently are.

I think our exact strongest line up now, but with Cunha and Delap would be a big improvement. We can forget about a one window turnaround, we just dont have the money for it, but even yesterday had Cunha and Delap been playing for us, we'd have been a different proposition. 2 talented, very physical players who have had good seasons. Youd have to add in a fit Diallo and Mainoo too

Why would any serious club want to buy Onana? He's not a good goalkeeper and is basically a meme now. We won't be able to sell him.

Not suited to the league nor the pressure of United. Doesn’t make him a bad player. Maguire was in a terrible ‘meme’ position at one time, as was Antony. Players can recover form, it happens all the time, not like he’s past his prime,

Tier 2:

  • Leverkusen would ask for €25-30m
  • Despite the Saudi interest, Schick prefers the PL and isn't interested in going to the Middle East.

He's a good finisher made from glass, not exactly good presser and average hold up play. He would be great of the bench choice if we bring him for a decent fee like around 15m pounds let's say AND Bring another starting striker of course.

So Hojlund is out then? It's Delap and Schick. Or Hojlund stays and it's only schtick.

The Hierarchy have said players will have two years to prove their worth, If not they’ll be moved on, we’ll soon see if this happens I guess

If the player does not want to move, it wont really matter. But I hope they will find mechanisms to enforce this. We have enough players who are on auto pilot.

United (and Bayern Munich) have scouts out for a Danish match today, which is not unusual. But they are said to be keeping an eye on Victor Froholdt, a central midfielder who just turned 19 this year and has made his international debut for Denmark. And it will be relevant to have a new player in that position this summer, when we will probably say goodbye to both Eriksen and Casemiro. Froholdt can play as a winger as well, but is best as a central midfielder.

Froholdt was with FC Copenhagen against Chelsea, where he was the best player on the pitch in one of the matches.

I really like Froholdt, who is getting better and better. But he would not be ready for anything else than the bench for us.

I'd love us to sign him if he is a great talent but we must also sign a quality player who is older and more experienced.

I love that we are aggressively pursuing young talent but we can't keep relying on young, unproven players and expect them to take us anywhere, the liklihood of it ending well is slim.

He's got a good height (1.87) and as a prospect player, why not?

Adding cunha and delap in place of several players that are on loan would be a massive improvement pretty sure they would be comfortably be our top scorers if they equalled this seasons tallies and they would add pace we are so sorely lacking. Delap isn't a top level player but hojlund and zirkzee have been so far off that level this season it isn't hard to be an improvement
