Whoever put this clause in the contract is a fecking idiot. At the very least, you make it more expensive than signing him so they're still saving on his wages.

Who said he would?

Might be an incentive as he could land a big signing on fee elsewhere. No one is paying for him. So if he comes back, he'll rot in the reserves or, go out on loan again.
Yeah but all of this at full salary. Has Sancho ever given you the impression to be overly bothered by actually playing football?

You do know when releasing a player from his contract, a pay off is negotiated?

I would happily pay him 3/4 of his contract, for example, to be done with him. It would benefit the player too. He may well get a 2 year deal in somewhere like Saudi with a big signing on fee.

You do know he doesn't have to agree for anything less than his full salary and not even that?

With the wages he's on and the very low demand for his services, there's no world where he agrees to anything less

We should use that to just release him. Watch him get fat and incredibly unfit within a handful of weeks, because truthfully he doesn’t wanna be a footballer.

Who else would want him? Would he get even £20m for him?
It would cost a lot more than £5m to release him.

Our fan base always bite when it comes to any headline regardless of the creditability, is it any wonder we get 20 different stories a day about United ?

To be fair, the language used in these reports is so benign it's always probably true anyway...

'United are monitoring Mbuemo'
'Amorim has been in contact with Gyokeres'
'United are scouting Tottenham ahead of their EL final'
'Ratcliffe is thinking about the possibility of maybe discussing plans to buy more shares with his accountant '

You missed the best part, the "BREAKING" headline in front of a total non-story. Absolutely hilarious every time.

"BREAKING (siren emojis): United are seriously considering bringing on potential attacking reinforcements in the summer. Cunha, Mbuemo discussed heavily".

I would think he hasn't earned the UCL qualifying 25% if we beat Spurs at the very least

It's good to see that we have a manager who actually sees that big change is needed and that we need to be brave enough to make that change. Hopefully there's a way to actually do this with no money available...

The least surprising news of the day. I guess even Chelsea couldn't find a way to flog him to Saudi for a profit in the summer.
Dortmund may be the only ones who would actually take him. Surely we get £20m?

He made huge changes at sporting in his first window. Lots of players were sold and went out on loan.
We could see a lot happen in the market and I hope we do.
We're beyond a few signings now, we need too many positions covering including 2 keepers and 2-3 strikers.

Clubs know we are desperate and I think he'll be entering the final year of his contract. I think the best we can hope for is another loan with subsidized wages and a fee that helps us cover the rest.

I'm glad that he is having to a lesser extent his Ralph Ragnick moment now. Questions Is how and will he be backed up in the summer. He clearly needs quality players.

I'm sure he will get the backing and that the club is quietly going about its business in the background to secure the quality that this team so desperately needs.

I'm not expecting a title challenging team next season but massively improved performances and closer to a top 4 finish.

The difference between Ragnick’s rant and what Amorim is saying now is that the condition of the team is undeniable now. Even Ratcliffe has called out the recruiting. At Ragnicks time players like Varane, Ronaldo and Sancho were supposed to be signs of our transfer ability instead of symptoms of our lack of direction. Overpaying for short term performers and square pegs for round holes.

It’s no exaggeration that the EL final together with the summer transfer window makes this the most important summer since Fergie retired. It will genuinely determine our trajectory for the next 5 years. The transfers have to be 100% hits, we can’t afford another Hjoljnd, Sancho or Antony.
