Whoever put this clause in the contract is a fecking idiot. At the very least, you make it more expensive than signing him so they're still saving on his wages.
Why would he agree to that?If Sancho comes back, we should honestly look at striking a deal to release him.
Isn't he decent for United news? I half expected this anyway sadly
Why would he agree to that?
Yeah but all of this at full salary. Has Sancho ever given you the impression to be overly bothered by actually playing football?Who said he would?
Might be an incentive as he could land a big signing on fee elsewhere. No one is paying for him. So if he comes back, he'll rot in the reserves or, go out on loan again.

You do know he doesn't have to agree for anything less than his full salary and not even that? You do know when releasing a player from his contract, a pay off is negotiated?
I would happily pay him 3/4 of his contract, for example, to be done with him. It would benefit the player too. He may well get a 2 year deal in somewhere like Saudi with a big signing on fee.
You do know he doesn't have to agree for anything less than his full salary and not even that?
It would cost a lot more than £5m to release him.We should use that to just release him. Watch him get fat and incredibly unfit within a handful of weeks, because truthfully he doesn’t wanna be a footballer.
Who else would want him? Would he get even £20m for him?
Ah pooIt would cost a lot more than £5m to release him.
What's his book value? He only has one year left now right? It would cost a lot more than £5m to release him.
Yeah need to add someone capable of playing 6/8, however finding that profile of player isn't easyIt is bad. Those 4 options for CM don't get us into the top half of table.
Why would he agree to that?
No new club will pay him even close to what he's making now after the years he's hadBecause he can then sign for another club and get more money.
To be fair, the language used in these reports is so benign it's always probably true anyway...Our fan base always bite when it comes to any headline regardless of the creditability, is it any wonder we get 20 different stories a day about United ?
Dortmund will probably buy him for £10-15 million
You missed the best part, the "BREAKING" headline in front of a total non-story. Absolutely hilarious every time.To be fair, the language used in these reports is so benign it's always probably true anyway...
'United are monitoring Mbuemo'
'Amorim has been in contact with Gyokeres'
'United are scouting Tottenham ahead of their EL final'
'Ratcliffe is thinking about the possibility of maybe discussing plans to buy more shares with his accountant '
I would think he hasn't earned the UCL qualifying 25% if we beat Spurs at the very leastYou do know he doesn't have to agree for anything less than his full salary and not even that?
With the wages he's on and the very low demand for his services, there's no world where he agrees to anything less
He doesn’t need to ‘earn’ it.I would think he hasn't earned the UCL qualifying 25% if we beat Spurs at the very least
He doesn’t need to ‘earn’ it.
It’s contractual
It's one source. The article is the source. The tweet is an aggregator.Very poor creditbility on both sources, no?
Dortmund may be the only ones who would actually take him. Surely we get £20m?The least surprising news of the day. I guess even Chelsea couldn't find a way to flog him to Saudi for a profit in the summer.
It's good to see that we have a manager who actually sees that big change is needed and that we need to be brave enough to make that change.
He made huge changes at sporting in his first window. Lots of players were sold and went out on loan. It's good to see that we have a manager who actually sees that big change is needed and that we need to be brave enough to make that change. Hopefully there's a way to actually do this with no money available...
Clubs know we are desperate and I think he'll be entering the final year of his contract. I think the best we can hope for is another loan with subsidized wages and a fee that helps us cover the rest.Dortmund may be the only ones who would actually take him. Surely we get £20m?
I'm glad that he is having to a lesser extent his Ralph Ragnick moment now. Questions Is how and will he be backed up in the summer. He clearly needs quality players.
The difference between Ragnick’s rant and what Amorim is saying now is that the condition of the team is undeniable now. Even Ratcliffe has called out the recruiting. At Ragnicks time players like Varane, Ronaldo and Sancho were supposed to be signs of our transfer ability instead of symptoms of our lack of direction. Overpaying for short term performers and square pegs for round holes.I'm glad that he is having to a lesser extent his Ralph Ragnick moment now.
