We'll have 40 guaranteed games next season.. if we go on a cup run, then maybe around 50..

I’d probably take a fee for Collyer if we can; there’s no clear path to regular first team, hes 22 and always seems injured.
 
GKs - eh. If Onana gets Saudi we probably replace him one for one.

Defenders - Malacia will leave. Leon will play for the U23s.
We’ll probably reassess whether some of the players like Maguire, Martinez, Shaw etc. can continue access to the training facilities next year.

Midfield - we potentially loan or sell Collyer who is a home grown player anyway.

Attack - the players you’ve bolded leave. Probably Hojlund too.

In return, we probably sign one more striker, and maybe a CM, and if we’re really lucky, another wingback.

Leaves us with, what, 25-ish players? Not that huge.

Squad is more than big enough with no Europe. I full expect a few cheap signings.

Probably no new striker we'll see Zirkzee, Mbeumo or Obi there for now with goals coming from 10s - unless we get money for Sancho and Rashford, which might not happen.

Remove Shaw and Casemerio next year and some smart purchases as we'll be in a better position with lower wages.
 
Malacia is also a cert to leave surely, which leaves with an expected 22 outfield players, which is about right (2 per position plus a couple youngsters).

Other exits will depend on incomings.

Injury prone players like Shaw and Mount make things a bit more complicated. Can possibly add Martinez to that list. If they stay and are often injured then the squad will look short on numbers rather than bloated.

Actually just the usual suspects. That would mean that if we can sell them we’d already be in a good position.

Nope, they already sent him back. Wasn’t even a starter for them, so that’s not promising for what fee we may get if we sell
 
Damn, Shaw has 2 more years left of his contract and Mount has 3 years left. Dunno how do we get rid of them especially if the injuries continue.

So the only players leaving since the season ended might be Evans, Eriksen, Malacia, Lindelof, and Garnacho.

Assuming we'll buy a CF (Gyokeres), Mbeumo to add to Cunha.

GK - Onana, Altay, Heaton
If we can replace Onana, sell and buy a new one. Might be a 2026 thing.

CB - Mazraoui, De Ligt, Yoro, Martinez, Heaven, Maguire, Fredricson

Wing back - Amad, Dalot, Dorgu, Amass

CM - Bruno, Casemiro, Ugarte, Mainoo, Collyer
Not sure we do anything this summer, replace Casemiro next summer

10's - Cunha, Mbeumo, Mount, Zirkzee
Amad can fill in sometimes if needed, same with Bruno and Mainoo but doubt they play here much

CF - Gyokeres, Chido Obi
Zirkzee would step in here if Gyokeres isn't there, but otherwise Gyokeres will play mostly and Chido will get small easier minutes

Anyone not mentioned is an urgent get rid.

25 man squad, though it's a good balance where 8 won't expect many minutes (well 7 once Martinez returns). Enough room for the young players to get some minutes but keeping the senior players content with their playing time and having a small and focused squad.
