Use this thread for posting transfer related tweets in. Use your head as to what to post. Don't post anything from a clear bullshitter like Agent_"Insert name here", as giving any sort of publicity to them is exactly what they want. Don't post any tweets by any of the following but if you can think of any other names to add to the blacklist, feel free to say.

If you can add any tweets found to the Tweets Only thread too it'd be appreciated. If there are any questions, please address them in the Admin/Mod Help forum

Twitter Blacklist (outside of the obvious ones like indykaila etc)

BFairthorne
Tancredi Palmeri
Fergie1975
LawTop20 (for transfers)
MardiAgent
mattdaviesmcr
SwoopTransfer
TommySmythESPN (does work for ESPN, but ignore anything he says transfer related)
TomMcDermott

No more than 4 tweets in one post.

No spam whatsoever - no memes or joke tweets. Only Football/Transfer tweets please.

I would still argue law top 20 should be allowed, but if the masses dont want it, its okay.

Blacklisting twitter accounts for being bullshitters is kind of like banning a girl from a porn set for not being a virgin, but here we go, Cole to Villa just seems a complete waste of time for Villa, Cole is finished.

I'd agree that lawtop20 isn't that bad, but has to be used wisely. If it's not a transfer rumour, he usually provides interesting information. Still, if the rest want him out...

I've never been on twitter and don't know what's what, I just rely on you guys to shoot a tweet down or its tweeter.

Most tweets need to be handled with a bit of suspicion. In some cases, journalists have contacts at clubs and tweet what they hear from them. In others, club sources may deliberately mislead a journalist to direct the media narrative away from a particular player they are interested in.

If people stopped taking tweets so seriously (see the past few years of transfer sagas involving Benz, Ozil, Sneijder, Hazard, Lucas Moura etc) then we would need to limit the likes of Tancredi, Hernandez et al. A tweet would simply be a speculative piece of information that is discussed without being taken too seriously.

So sounds like it's just BBC/SkySports style confirmation tweets or a potential rumour (but only if posted by a big newspaper)?!!

So, when is Ronaldo Day 2014? Can't be long now given nobody has a fecking clue who we're buying (this seemingly included Woodward, BTW).

According to industry experts Twitter is already on the way to being the next MySpace. What will we do when it disappears???

I remember LawTop20 and these 2 guys being particularly full of bull on Ronaldo

https://twitter.com/Fergie1975
https://twitter.com/FootballMcD

Can anyone point to any transfers they have got right? Is there a way of monitoring any Tweeter's success rate?
Ah Fergie1975 great bullshitter he is. I remember being naive and believing his guff, I sent him a tweet re Lucas Moura and some article I had found from Brazil. He then proceeded to tweet that he had high rank sources giving him news - low and behold the same as the report!!

3 separate Twater threads?

It's going to cause some confusion. ..
Isn't the old twitter discussion thread now closed? I think there is just this new twitter discussion thread and the "tweets only thread" so it's just like before basically.

Move on to the next horseshit social media site that pops up.

Wouldn't it be much better if people just waited for official news (done deals)?

We are not going to sign any of the players that have been rumored. When we sign someone we will all know about it, I don't see the point of following minute by minute bullshit tweets from people who have no idea what the feck is going on.

Not even Ed Woodward(who is in charge) has any idea what the hell he is doing.

His obsession with Louis Van Gaal is unhealthy.
I think it's just because he's Dutch and gets a lot of retweets because of van Gaal becoming our manager. Either that, or he is actually infatuated with the man.

Because it's fun. Like the Transfer Forum itself. In the dog days of summer it provides a little United related excitement.

As long as you don't believe everything you read. And even if you do, what's the harm? It's only football.

No it wouldn't, as its completely natural for people to want to discuss potential transfers, even if they never materialize. Its why we created the transfer forum.

But we're making it less fun by completely restricting what can be posted, Yay.

Nb I think people should just use their common sense rather than a banned users list.

Sorry but i'm gonna have to disagree with this whole "crackdown" on unwanted Twitter accounts.

Without these muppets on Twitter, the transfer forum would be a hell of a lot less entertaining. Most of us know how unreliable most of these so called "journos" or ITKs are yet it provokes discussion and people thinking "I know it's probs bs but just imagine ...."

In my opinion, people should be able to post any tweets from accounts with a reasonable amount of followers and allow the users on RedCafe to read into them as much as they like.

I agree with the crackdown because it's not entertaining. It's annoying. The reason more and more sprout up is because people give them attention. A true muppet cares and wants to believe what they read is true. They don't want to be put in a skirt and fecked up the arse by every twat wanting to be in the know. Twitters a shit website anyway
