Not usually one for making player threads, but I thought he looked very good at times yesterday. For such a young player he seemed completely undaunted and gave Dalot - who has been good this season - a terrible time in first half. I liked how direct he was. Could certainly be a player to watch, is anybody more in the know about him? Southampton have a good record of producing players.

Him and Harwood-Bellis sound like posh Southern villages that you'd drive past but have no intention of ever visiting.

I actually got shades of Bale with him rather than Grealish. He's bloody tall for a young lad. Dalot is no slouch and made him look slow.

His play has similarity to Joao Felix. Interesting to see how he develops this season. Southampton will have him play a lot of minutes.

Doesn't matter, he's never leaving the South Coast, he got home sick moving to London for a couple of months.

The new Le Tissier.

Well he is a kid tbf. Jesus Navas used to get too homesick to even go on international duty at one point but then ended up in the Prem for more than one season with City and just won a Euros final with Spain.

Hea also still a kid, but having a quick look he moved away from Southampton twice.

My post wasn't judging him, just a gamble on a club that would probably have to drop 50-80m on the guy.

Well agreed if we assume he wouldn't run his contract down but seems a bit early to be making predictions just yet.

Joined Chelsea and then went back because he was homesick.

Another one to keep an eye on. Southampton produce some really good players.

Compared to Joao Felix, Bale & Grealish in half a page!

He ripped Dalot apart in the first half on Saturday. No idea if he’s any good otherwise.

I vote to Bale. The young fella has pace, balls and confidence. He was quite impressive, i have to say. And according to FotMob he is a 75K player.

Inline with our latest transfer strategy of young player with potential. One to monitor and if he consistently perform well we should go in for him next year.

I have seen about 60-minutes of this lad and am already certain that's he's got huge talent and potential. We should definitely be looking to prise him away from Southampton at the earliest opportunity.

Certainly worth looking into, especially if Southampton go down. He made Dalot look like a novice and although we don’t think of Dalot as a pure defender, I can’t remember took many established forwards making him look so bad

Fantastically well taken goal against Ipswich too, will be fun to watch this season.

Some players just have it, they have a maturity and class in their actions that make it obvious they have something special.

This lad is 18 and he tormented Dalot in that first half. It wasn't just raw pace or luck, it was calculated and smooth. Then his goal against Ipswich this weekend...so well taken, so composed. Also played a fantastic through-ball to Cameron Archer that led to a big chance.

I strongly believe that this lad is going to be a top player. Obviously luck can play a part, he needs to stay grounded and injury free, but I'd already be working out that we need to do to sign him.

If he's really that good, maybe we've got a chance through the Wilcox connection.

Looks a good prospect but to be fair to Dalot he’s playing out of position.

Which usually only shows when he's up against genuine top quality players, such as Salah. I'd say it's a pretty good gauge of how good a winger is.

As I say, looks a good prospect but judging him having a good 30 mins v Dalot out of position and a goal v Ipswich would be a bit premature.

As he plays more this season he’ll get found out and need to adapt a bit. One to watch for sure though.

As I said though, some footballers just have it. They ooze class and they make good decisions. Like when Kobbie Mainoo came through last season. We (United fans) got accused of talking him up too soon, but you could see his class straight away. Looked like a veteran from the minute he walked into the side, he just belonged.

The reason these high-technical ability youngsters make good decisions (when others dont) is because the technical side is coming so naturally to them they don't have to think about it. It's why pace merchants are often frustrating and don't make good decisions. They can't rely on their technique when they need it.

Take Rashford as an example. I have always been pretty damning of him, and the reason is his base technical level is not high enough. That's why he's so inconsistent and makes so many poor choices. He can't trust his touch.

Look at the way Dibling cut through us and had that shot that Onana palmed away. Always in full control, always knew exactly what he wanted to do and executed it.

Likewise look at when he beat Dalot for the penalty. That waln't luck or raw pace, he slowed Dalot down and accelerated again at exactly the right split-second when he knew Dalot's weight would be planted.

The goal vs Ipswich was so well-taken. Which of our wide forwards would show that level of composure in-front of goal? He knew the ball had just enough pace on it to open his body up and take the touch past the CBs. That's not luck again it's judgement and seeing the game ahead of time.

The through-ball for Archer was through the eye of a needle. Had to be perfect. You could give Garnacho and Rashford that pass 100 times and I don't believe either would make it even once...and for the record, I rate Garnacho...it's just that he has a slightly different skillset.

I'm going to call it now, this lad is a must sign. I might look silly in three seasons when he's still at Southampton in the Championship but I firmly believe he's going to be a real top player.

There's just no way I can get behind a player with this bad of a name, doesn't matter how good he is.
