Tyler Dibling

Did you ever stop to think that maybe he just buys into the Southampton academy and their ways of developing players.
Fair play to the lad if that’s the case. There are far worse places to develop as a footballer than Southamptons academy. Shearer, LeTissier, Lallana, Walcott, Kevin Phillips, Alex Ox-Chambo, Shawberto, JWP and Gareth Bale are testament to that.
Today’s young players are a lot more switched on and keen to maximise their development- just look at Bellingham and Haaland choosing BVB for playing time over coming to United.

Absolutely, they have a good track record. Not everyone wants to start at a “big club” where he might not get exposure to the first team. More that likely at Chelsea he’d be loaned out

What’s the big deal if they say homesick? You could be half an hour away and feel uncomfortable in your surroundings.
If you're half an hour away and are homesick you have big issues. Listen. I have no problem with people being homesick. I have a problem that it's an hour away and solvable. I have a friend in the US who's son plays hockey. The guy moved states for him and regularly travels hundreds of miles. A fkn hour? Pulls it together.

While I agree a hour or two is no big deal, it’s no point in judging someone. People are different from each other and we all value different things in life.

Sure. I'm not heartless. My son is super sensitive and we take great care to accommodate him. But he manages to go off to camp etc. He doesn't like it but he copes better and better. He didnt want to go to school because it was scary and kindergarden. Heck even I was a very sensitive kid. I remember staying over at a friend's house and forcing them to call my dad to come get me at midnight.
But if my son got a call up to a prem team an hour away and it's scary I'll hear him but he should be able to handle it with a bit of support. I'd drive him there myself for the first year if necessary. What's he going to do when he has to go to Uni? Job? All sorts. I'm not saying he shouldn't have feelings but there is a line and if its stopping you growing in life then you should push through it.

I agree on everything and it’s not about being heartless. It’s just that people are different from each other and that’s not going to change anytime soon.

I lived alone in another country in my early twenties and while I missed family and friends, it was a great time.

Everyone is different. Maybe he hated it at Chelsea.

Why does it trigger you so much?

Again. There is a difference between hating it and being homesick. If they said he hated it and thought his career was best suited to Southampton then fair play. But they never said that. They said he was homesick when his house was an hour and 20 minutes away. I don't really care either way but I think its ridiculous to be homesick when you live just down the road. In other countries they regularly commute that no problem. Whats the acceptable milage to e homesick? 30 mins away? 10 meters from your front door?

Why does it matter? If he was homesick he was homesick.

Because if you get homesick 50 miles from your house you probably have serious mental issues. Its not normal. Im not having a go at him. Mental health is no joke. But he will never be able to do lots of things in life and probably will have to play for Southampton for his entire career.
Or its just a label they put on him because he turned down Chelsea. Which is also wrong. Saying some bullsht to save face. If I went for a job then didnt take it for a job closer to home then I wouldnt expect them to release a statement that I was homesick. Id correct them and say no it was because of x, y, z.

Yes but then say that and not say he was homesick

At 15-16, prospects who move to an academy in a different city typically move to live near Cobham. I think Chelsea (probably other clubs too) have structures in place where the kids live with families, kind of like an adopted family, while the kids go through football training and schooling. I think Mount went through the same process when he moved from Portsmouth to London.

It’s very easy to see how someone could feel homesick in that situation - living in London, away from your family, living with carers you don’t know, away from your friends, in a city you don’t know.

Jesus Navas had a pretty fine career. The lad is very young, if he wasn't ready for Chelsea or being away from home or whatever it was then it doesn't mean he never will be.

Another good game for him tonight.
Wondering where everyone thinks he will end up at? The way he glides on the pitch and always attacks his man

He’s absolutely worth a gamble by a bigger club, especially if Southampton go down. Looks like a young Jack grealish the way he moves

Nice that two of the better ball carriers in the league this season are both English — Dibling and Rogers. Outside of (Villa era) Grealish, we’ve not had too many wingers/attackers in recent years in the PL who have that level of dribble ability.

Not seen him have a poor game so far, I wonder how long they can keep hold of him?
Has silky skills and isn't afraid to work for the team. Will probably end up at Ciddy for their rebuild.
No, every time I've seen him I've been impressed. Brilliant dribbler.

Hopefully ciddy get deleted before the end of the season.
