Interesting signing which again leads to the question 'is Dorgu a LB eventually' or 'Cunha will move to no. 10 once Bruno leaves.'. I am happy we are picking up some ballers at a young age.
 
I like that we're nabbing all the youth talent while the top teams sleep on them.

Jeez I really hope we have the finances ready to go for someone amazing to replace Bruno. I like Cunha but that is the kind of downgrade that has you back fighting for the Europa league places. What might happen is we go to a real 4-3-3 and spend that money on a midfielder and change the way we play but I like the role he's playing now. A really good player could slot in there and get you 10/15 goals a season.

Likes of Bellingham, Guler, Nico Paz, Musiala, Palmer maybe... and so on...
 
He looks like a winger who likes to take on the defenders. Let's see if he will get his chance this season.
 
I wonder if the parallels being drawn to Ayden Heaven by Whitwell mean we aren't planning to sign a first-team left winger now, even if Rashford moves on. I don't hate the idea of this if we keep Rashford in the short-term or sign another forward to replace him, but I hope the idea isn't that we're sorted for this position now this signing has been made.

I do still find it a little curious we didn't get seriously involved for Monga. The finances didn't seem drastically different to this one and he seems quite a bit more established at a younger age, but let's see.
 
Glad to see this type of signing as I've said we could really do with taking a bit of a risk on a prospect as far as the LW goes given the options we already have there. Now we just need a more established LB to really complete that side for now.
 
First heard of this last night and we sign him this morning. Impressive. We are repeatedly getting business done away from the spotlight. Well done Ineos.
 
From the few highlights I've watched it seems like he likes to do winger like things.
 
The best thing about signings like Heaven and this lad if he gets brought through this season is the message it sends. The best young talents in the country will want to choose Utd when they see that.
 
Does this mean we have money to spend on Lewis hall now or am I in Cloud coo Koo land

Hes joining and training with the first team. That's what sold it to him. He will get games probably in league cup and sub appearances here and there
 
Let's hope he can play for first team soon like Heaven does. Don't think there's real downside when it comes to signings like Thompson, Heaven, Chido Obi etc.

I agree about Monga. It really does seem to me like any time City are in for a player we just back off instead of getting into a bidding war but Monga certainly looks to be the better player of the two currently

Nobody is getting blocked here. Talented players will earn their spot. Look at Real, their surplus players are easily worth over 50 million. They either strengthen the squad or generate a good profit on sale.

I think it would be the equivalent of us selling Elanga or Lacey on the cheap before they got games.

Mikey Moore is their biggest attacking talent these days I think. He probably would have cost Santos kind of money and I don't think he'll be ready for the PL this season. Monga looks the biggest English wing talent for sale this summer by some distance but City have snapped him up after it sounded like he was Arsenal bound so bigish wages most likely, I presume he will go out on loan.

I agree. I'm not worried about blocking JJ or anyone else. The team obviously needs as much quality and competition as possible so we can start dropping players who are slacking or out of form
 
I don’t think JJ Gabriel has even got a GCSE to his name, so he’s at least another season off from potentially being seen hovering around any kind of first team action. You might see him this time next year on a pre-season tour if all goes well.

I don’t think Thompson blocks him. I think if anything it provides incentive for Gabriel to keep working hard and win his place in the first team. Competition is good for these younger guys.

This is a typical Wilcox find. Scouring the academies for kids who we can pick up cheap and could potentially get a few minutes in the first team to develop them. Best case scenario they’re amazing. Worst case they’re good but not that good and we can sell them on for a profit. Spurs’ academy pathway to the first team has been largely non-existent since they moved to the new stadium and Pochettino left, resulting in hiring guys like Jose and Conte who are two guys you certainly wouldn’t associate with having a keen eye on the academy of a football club.

Cunha is destined to become our no 10 once Bruno leave.
 
He doesn’t look all that great on YouTube clips, mostly getting by players on raw pace, why are spurs happy to sell for so little

Loads of our young lads are currently training with the first team because of pre-season. We'll see but I'd be sceptical of him getting any sub appearances in the PL. Our starting wingers are far better than Spurs' and he didn't get any mins there. Even Heaven who had a far larger reputation and was competing with excellent Arsenal defenders in comparison, didn't get that many appearances for us last season. The step up from u21 to PL level is massive.

Getting Tynan Thompson from Tottenham shows exactly how ambitious they are when it comes to locking down the best English talent.

At 18 years old, the England youth international has an incredibly high ceiling. Physically and technically, he’s easily one of the most exciting young wingers in the country. His constant runs to stretch the backline completely turned the game, eventually helping Tottenham secure a massive 4-2 win.

What makes him unique is that his big frame allows him to protect the ball under heavy pressure while carrying it down the flank. But he isn't just a touchline winger who relies on pace. He’s smart enough to drop deeper into midfield to link the play, and his ability to step up in the biggest moments shows he has the exact mindset needed for the top level.

Spurs losing him is a massive win for Manchester United.

Luca Williams-Barnett looks real quality, I do really like Mikey Moore from what Ive seen too

There is no way he is 6 foot 2. I watched a quick clip where he got a goal or assist and all the players ran over to him and he was easily the smallest one in the huddle (think there was 4/5 including him). Considering this was youth game unless they are a team of giants he can't even be close to that.

Do they at around the £8-10m mark we seem to be going for though? Genuinally curious. I'm not against this strategy but I'm wondering how common it is. I know teams often bring in <£1m players for the youth teams but I think what we're doing is different.

That’s funny. When I asked Gemini for a bit of a low down I got quite a few of the same things. I corrected its height and it just shifted the whole description. This guy has just used ai here. AI can give you a decent sense if you ask it to be super specific and only refer to match reports and scouting reports and even then you’re not learning anything really. Here it’s just gone ‘this is an unknown winger at youth level who is 6’2, I’m going to fill in the gaps’. And this guy has added in a bit of personal spice to make it seem like he knows anything.

Yeah, it's weird how many are quoting 8 mil. If we're paying 8 mil, he's been a success. If he doesn't make it, he's not triggering the other payments and it remains a 4 million punt.
