Tynan Thompson

Even before Heaven, our youngster punts have really been quite smart. Garnacho, Mejbri and that young defender who went to Sevilla.

Clever signing!

You’re bang right.

One of the funniest posters on here.

There’s no one I’d rather batter Scousers with.

Looks like a bit of a throwback winger who stretches a backline and runs at defenders. He also looks fairly comfortable going both inside and outside (and crossing with his weak foot) which is promising.

Obviously a huge step up to play men's football. I wonder why Spurs are open to selling him?

8m seems steep for someone who hasn't played for a first team at any level.
4m fee plus4 million add on’s
If he doesn’t work out we won’t have to pay add on’s if he’s a success and we have to pay add on’s then fantastic for us.

We weren't, he wanted to leave and rejected all our contract offers. He also only had a year left on his deal.

There is no way he is 6 foot 2. I watched a quick clip where he got a goal or assist and all the players ran over to him and he was easily the smallest one in the huddle (think there was 4/5 including him). Considering this was youth game unless they are a team of giants he can't even be close to that.

EDIT 0:37 on this clip

Definitely passes the eye test.

I read it was also a family decision to want to leave London with personal issues so that is another area.

Reading that without any context was as weird as a pineapple on a pepperoni pizza!

Mate he’s 15. I don’t think any 15 year old in the world is in a position to be starting drama around first team football.
This 15 year old is unique though. He’s the only kid that’s been offered his own VIP Box in the new stadium. That’s why it’s pertinent. United see this boy as a Messi-like talent. He should be with the team in training.

Looks extremely one footed in the compilations. Not sure I saw him beat a man on the outside and cross with his left. Obviously very young but not sure how your weaker foot gets better... Do coaches encourage it or is it on the player to improve it? How long would it take a pro to train the weak foot to the ability of the strong foot?

Do you have any idea what these ‘personal issues’ where that made the family want to escape London according to reports? Gang involvement? Bad company? Blackmail? Stalked by Glaston?
  Forgot about him. Is he back from the dead yet ?

I presume that we will now not be looking for another left winger. Given we have Thompson and in another season's time JJ Gabriel getting promoted I presume to first team.

Which is fine by me, if we can get Hall out of Newcastle
Yes, agree with this. This feels a bit like a Fergie signing, relatively unknown but well scouted, and will get minutes in the cups or as a sub.
Yeah, I think we should go and get Hall now.
Fingers crossed Thompson plays well for us. And hopefully we see Gabriel in the first team too.

I've seen a couple of things saying his dad passed away last year and the family made the decision to move away from London and start afresh somewhere new

Tired of wingers kind of run at a defender, and then lazily pass it backwards. We need to get back to that directness, please!

Saw someone make the comparison to Ashley Young which feels like the best way to describe his style of play that I've seen. I'd be quite happy if we were to fins someone in that mould as it would compliment what we have currently. If we are using Dorgu on the left, we have someone who can attack the outside and if we use Thompson then we have someone who can exploit the inside channel more easily.

I'm not expecting him to get a lot of minutes this season but it's good to have options and Spurs fans being gutted to lose him can only be encouraging.

Andy Mitten said on Talk of the Devils his father passed away suddenly and his family were keen to relocate out of London with Manchester being their preference.

His profile looks very similar to Ashley Young's. Hopefully he can be developed to be as positionally versatile.

In Football Manager 26 his potential ability is only -75 (120-150). It's a write-off lads. We should have actually gone after Luca Williams-Barnett who Football Manager assures me has -95 (160-190) potential

Thanks!

Last seen trudging up M6 northwards with a poster on his chest with a picture of a lankey Ayden heaven-lookalike and a plackard saying ‘HAS ANYONE SEEN TY?’

Hopefully get to see something of him in the next friendly after Friday

His left foot looks weak but it's not non-existent.
