Tyrell Malacia | Manchester United player | Is in the 25/26 squad

That move to Elche was unrealistic, they're one of the poorest clubs in the top 5 leagues, their weekly wage bill was around €150k last season, Malacia would take like 60% of their wage bill.

He's not on big wages. Annoying he's not been sold but not the end the world. Still think he'll get a loan at least.
Small wages for Utd but massive wages for a player of his caliber. He'd be the best paid player on a lot of top5 leagues teams and far from being the best player.

But who are the takers? There were virtually no rumours apart from Elche - he’s simply not wanted by anyone, it seems

If we are only left with him , it’s not a bad window. Surprising a PL team didn’t try a loan move for him.

Turkey would be ideal for him, so that could still happen. I don't see him in the same bracket as the bomb squad lads though. He was a promising young player that was really fecked up with a horrible injury, I wish him well whatever happens.

Hopefully he can find a move to Turkey, even if to go and play games for a season to build his fitness up before looking around again as a free agent next summer.

As someone else has said, of all the players we were looking to get rid of he appears the least problematic from a point of view that his wage is comparatively low and the fee would have been next to nothing anyway.

Amass looks to be going on loan so worst case scenario he could play games in the Under 23’s. I’m not convinced we’ll see him play for us at first team level again even if he stays until his contract is up next summer.

Last remaining member of the bomb squad.

Hopefully get him booted out the door to Saudi or Turkey.

If we can't get him a move to turkey or Saudi then re integrate him into the squad. Seems to be a good professional, tenacious if limited fullback. I liked him when he played despite his technical limitations.

Why is he bomb squad??? The guy hasn't as much as made a noise ever afaik. Poor guy just had a horrid injury and maybe wasn't good enough.

I hope he gets a move to Saudi or Turkey, loan or permanent, just so he can play football. No illwill towards him whatsoever.

What even is it?
I had only heard it used in rugby before in a positive context, but it seems it was created as a collective noun to essentially package up our outward bound players - I have seen loads of posters reference it on here over the transfer window so it worked, as random as it seems to be.

Professional? Didn't he get multiple operations for an injury abroad without the club's consent? This apparently set his recovery process back further. Also a close mate of Rashford, so 'Bomb Squad' he should remain.

Alright, I see, yep it's a bit random, thanks for the clarification.

It’s particularly annoying. The phrase in rugby refers originally to the South African bench front row….players of such quality that they’d start in any other international team. They regularly sealed games by being so fecking good.

How it’s been used to describe a load of our shit that couldn’t turn a game if their lives depended on it baffles me

Poor Malacia, so forgotten he doesn’t even get a title change.

If he can’t get a move, cut him loose. He is not ever playing for us again. Shaw, Dalot, Dorgu and Leon all ahead of him.

I would hope he accepts a payoff that’s less than his salary for the year. He should want to play at some level.

Now what ?
Some countries have a later closing date for the window. But for clubs in european competitions, players need to be registered before tomorrow at 11pm UK time.

Netherlands : 2 september
Brazil : 3 september
Austria : 5 september
Belgium : 8 september
Saudi: 11 september
Turkey : 12 september
Mexico : 13 september

Reckon he's the kinda guy who'll have a mad interesting Wikipedia page 10 years from now.
Retired at 25 and now runs a vegan coffee shop that specializes in edibles kinda vibe.

Yeah, not sure how bomb squad was used with us and caught on so much but it’s practically the opposite of what the rest phrase has meant these past few years

Will be mentioned in the ‘players you’ve forgotten existed thread’ in about 3 years time.

Interesting, I wonder if anyone in the Netherlands will make a late move for him tomorrow.

Can we still sell or loan to these countries given that the Euro window is closed ?

Yea you can have as many outgoings as you want to those countries, you just can't register incomings.
