Tyrell Malacia | Manchester United player | Is in the 25/26 squad

Interesting, I wonder if anyone in the Netherlands will make a late move for him tomorrow.
Belgium too, decent league and at a Flemish club he wouldnt need to learn the language.

Could still go Turkey or Saudi. His wages aren't ridiculous so if he had to stay and be a 4th choice left back it's not the end of the world, but hopefully for him he gets a move.

I thought that but then googled it earlier and he’s on 75k a week apparently. Why the feck we needed to offer him that when he cost 3 million iirc and was in like single digit wage at Feyenoord and nobody else was really in for him.

That’s 100 tea ladies

Or 1 pound extra from each fan at Old Trafford

Reckon he's the kinda guy who'll have a mad interesting Wikipedia page 10 years from now.

Same

Ends up in playing in Turkey, Qatar, South Korea, Iran and ends his playing career in the US second division.

Poor Tyrell :(

Last bomb squad member standing, and he seems the most decent out of the lot.
Yea. He’s been extremely unlucky with injuries, and to begin with he was an extreme example of how weak Murtaugh//Arnold were to let Ten Hag dictate our incomings based on no good reason at all.

Still, he did provide a quite a few decent performances both on left and right full back right off the bat, and provided the necessary competition Shaw has always needed to raise his game to what was a very important level during Ten Hag’s one really good season here.

Think it was harsh to rope him into that title at all.

He doesnt compare to the others in terms of personality, wage demands or overall trouble, yet came at the window we needed rid of the players that were no use.

He just was never good enough, evem as a backup. Best of luck to the bloke because he seemed nice.

Your memory is failing you very hard here. We signed him for £13m and he was all set to join Lyon before we hijacked the deal.

I wonder if there’s been an issue behind the scenes with him for him to become part of the bomb squad? Feels a bit harsh that he was excluded when he hasn’t done anything wrong really, I didn’t think he’d be in the same group as the likes of Garnacho. Hojlund, for example, remained with the team. Unless in reality the whole bomb squad thing was less harsh than the media have made out.

speculative by Mitten, but still. seems pretty harsh to me:

Feel a bit for Malacia. The injury may well have ruined his career.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s retired before he’s 30.

Oh right  Love how petty and no nonsense the club have been over this. It’s about time we took players to task.

I don't think it is a good thing, and I hope it's not true.

I'd hope the manager/club can exercise better judgement and his isolation is due to sporting reasons and/or his own behaviour - not because he's friends with someone the manager fell out with - that's not a good thing, and a sure way to lose the locker room and torpedo the club into potentially losing millions.

"Petty" shouldn't be a thing associated with a good/striving organisation.

Not that I think it's true, by the way. I think Mitten was just being speculative.

There's still time for Turkiye. If not, integrate him. Unless he's been up to no good behind the scenes.

Can he play CM? That was part of the instruction back under ETH, move into a CM role during possession

There's about 10 days left when it comes to transfer window in Turkey and Greece. Martial and Pellistri went to Greek clubs recently. I can see at least 1 club from those two leagues being interested in Malacia. He's surely not on big wages.

£75k/week or €87k/w.
Only the big 3 in Turkey can afford those wages and they all recruited one or several left-back this summer. Other turkish clubs are miles behind financially, for example Andros Townsend at Antalya is the best paid player at €20k/w.
Martial is the best paid player in Greek league history at €50k/w.
He's on the last year of a contract that pays him wages he probably wont ever come close to ever again, I wouldnt blame him if he didnt want to take a paycut.

The impression I got was the player was injured for 500 days from June of 23 to Nov of 24, by which time Ruben had already been appointed and didn't see him in his plans because he doesn't use LBs. Shaw would've also been in the same category but he was injured for most of the year and when he eventually returned, Amorim found him useful at CB because of Licha's injury.

If not for Shaw and Licha's injuries, we almost certainly wouldn't have bought Dorgu in the winter window. All of which made Malacia redundat, hence the loan and later his exile from the squad. I seriously doubt it was because he was pals with Rashford.

Yeah that makes it less likely. Yeah I don't have big problem with Malacia staying for another season. He was least of our problems.

10 months left on his contract at 75k per week. Can find a loan and split wages or backup to Dorgu & Dalot.

I’m sure there’s more to it. Many of the players would have been his friend but maybe Malacia was problematic in his own way. Perhaps he was siding with Rashford and stirring the pot a bit, who knows?

Sad it's turn out like this. I thought he had some good attributes and could have become a good squad member in the long term.
It's very unfair.. he struggled severly with Saka but he actually showed he could have been a very good back-up option for the years to come. Isnt the same player anymore.
