Don't think I've ever seen a team not taking any points in the U18-league. They are absolute shite at U23-level too. It seems like a young and inexperienced team for United today. The U18 schedule strikes again, barely any game in February but of course several games in March. U18 playing Tuesday again and then need to fit in an FA Youth Cup fixture as well.

Seems to be the team. Maybe in a 4-3-3 setup

Elanga is finally back. Great boost to the FA Youth cup run.

After some sloppy passing and careless possession United are starting to find their feet. Elanga hits the crossbar from a free kick just outside the box after 14 minutes of play.

So good to see Elanga back on the pitch. Strong run inside from the wing but shoots more or less straight at the keeper. Sotona gets on the rebound and it may have been a penalty as the keeper looked to have tripped him. None given anyway.

3rd good direct free kick from Elanga, this time the keeper gets a hand to it to guide it to a corner.

Good run and shot with his left foot from Iqbal, a yard wide and over though.

Nice footwork from Iqbal inside the box, then places a shot in the corner - 1-0 United.

That's already the fourth dangerous free kick from Elanga, this time with the "Ronaldo/Rashford" technique, keeper makes a save.

McCann scores his 5th league goal from the edge of the box, good drilled shot in the corner.

Pleased for him. Must admit he hasn’t shown me anything to say he’s a star in the making but I hope he kicks on
He has barely played? Or have you watched U16?

Elanga and Iqbal great in the first half, rest of the team good too. Fair to say that this Sunderland team is no world beaters but still.

@top1whoisman What’s Zidane Iqbal like? Does he have the potential to one day make it into the 1st team?
He's really good on the ball, but as a small player understandably has taken, and will take time, to get used to U18s football. At less than 17 it's hard to say anything definite, but skills wise he's one of the more talented players in the squad.

Cheers mate.

I’m intrigued to see how he develops as will be some story to see him become one of the first British Asian players to make it at Utd.

It would indeed. Wouldn't be surprised to see him called up to England youth sides at some stage, but he needs some strength in his body, as it is quite often with players this age. Based on what I've seen he has glimpses, a lot of them, of quality but needs to stamp his authority on the game for 90 minutes.

McCann curls the ball in the corner from outside the box. 4-0. Sunderland are awful.

That should've been a red for Kiernan. Studs showing straight to the shin of Neville.

When a team team with 15 straight defeats and -52 gd - is worse than you expected, then they are really bad!

Being an Asian of Indian heritage it’s kind of frustrating seeing so many make it in cricket but still struggling to make a breakthrough in major football clubs.

Would love to see one make it through to Utds first team. But he’ll have to do it on merit

Shouldn't read too much into it as the hosts are abysmal, but we've played some good football today. Have to do it on more consistent basis for the rest of the season.

It feels a bit weird when the commentator is refering to that player as Sicko :)

Pretty sure thats not how you pronounce his name :)=
