We're also in the REWE Junior Cup as usual, so the squad will be split across the two tournaments.

Would have loved to play Servette FC in our group stage and to see my two favourite teams facing each other at youth level.

Servette is Geneva's Club, 17 x Swiss Champion and got relegated after the millennial due to financial mismanagement. They have always had a great academy for Swiss standards with defensive talent such as Denis Zakaria, Kevin Mbabu, Philippe Senderos, Ulisses Garcia, Becir Omeragic or Patrick Müller. Now, they are back in the Swiss Super League and won the Swiss Cup last year.

Ironically we might face one of their former talents who got poached two years ago; the young Swiss international striker Winsley Boteli, in our game versus Borussia Mönchengladbach.

This is played some 5km from where I live, always used to watch that tournament when I was younger

Squad for the tournament:

Victor Musa, Zach Baumann, Jacob Devaney, Yuel Helafu, Jayce Fitzgerald, Amir Ibragimov, Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher, Godwill Kukonki, Samuel Lusale, Will Murdock (GK), James Scanlon, Jayden Ngwashi

Ibragimov & Helafu are also listed in the REWE Junior Cup squad so remains to be seen which one they'll go to and who, if anyone, will be their replacements.

I do remember last year they also streamed it on their website and I don't think it needed one but I could be mistaken. Worth checking anyway.

Yeah perhaps tomorrow you’re able to click on the fixtures and you’ll find the stream there. Makes you wonder though as I think they’ve removed the info about live streaming on the website.

Seems like the kickoff times were already converted to my local time, so these should be correct:

Sat 11 Jan
12:36 GMT | United vs Rangers
13:04 GMT | Bayern vs United
15:10 GMT | M’gladbach vs United

They're a bit behind the schedule, I think. Anyway the Rangers match will start after this Gladbach vs Bayern game.

United is always provocatively dumb in this tournament. One goal down, often very early, pushes everyone up, loses the ball with a bad decision, and gets counter attacked on. Classic indoor tactic. Very easy to win against United.

We've also split our players for 2 tournaments, so not fully representative of the strongest team. But we've been very slow, lethargic, very little individualism to create chances/goals and also a bit naive with high press.

If Murdock was more of a goal threat it would make our game much more unpredictable.

Edit: Not a post I would’ve ever expected to write here.
