U21s: Man City vs United

Same line up as the West Ham game, except for Williams replacing Mather, who's completely missing.
Still no Moorhouse, Kamason and Matanto.
Speaking of missing, What's going on with Missin?

I thought Jack was better than Tyler?

Jack been benched of late.

It's a strange one how they go about picking the U21's now. I don't follow it as closely as I did bit a few years ago it was a fairly settled lineup.

Now players seem to dissappear for a for a few weeks, they're in and out.

Jack has dropped off a little recently. He wouldn’t fit well in Amorims system so perhaps he’s feeling a little disillusioned with this current pathway.

Eh? Jack Fletcher? The guy who is either a 8 or a 10? Why on earth would he not?

Was at the game. Both Fletcher brothers looked head and shoulders our best out there for me.

Agree the Fletchers were our two best players. Sam Murray did well too defensively.

Kone has moments of quality but doesn’t consistently affect games and got pushed around by City’s giants. I’d excuse it a bit due to the language barrier but at some point he needs to do more. His first touch is also often heavy and sets him in the wrong direction. The way Jack Fletcher came on and immediately was playing a higher tempo and finding the angles to play through midfield with 1-2 touch passing is the difference in quality.

In the last two games Kone was playing as a 10. From the little I've seen of the u21 this year (thanks mutv) I think he's better suited as an 8 or 6. Jack Fletcher is a natural 10 and is much more of an offensive player than Kone, that is why our game improved when he came on.

All in all our offence was pretty weak. I can't remember any shots on goal or any saves the city goalie had to make.

Haven't both the Fletcher bros been practicing with the 1st team and have even featured on the bench? Why would they be worried about where they are this season? They're considered to be good enough to practice with the 1st team and they both have only just turned 18 less than two months ago. I honestly think if they were more physically ready they would've gotten minutes already. Jack has definitely shown that he's better forward and has even scored some great goals, while Tyler has been better at initiating the team forward from behind.
