Pretty back and forth so far. Awful offside call when we should've been through and good save for the penalty. Chong and Gomes have looked good

Referee is far too lenient. On another note, Hamilton has been a 1 man midfield this game, been really good.

Agree don't understand how it helps the young players to be so lenient. Then he went completely the other way for the pen award.
That penalty incident was just awful, crap defending, crap penalty and then Pereira finished it off with a crap kick up the field.

This performance from Gomes is kind of why he lost his place for England in the summer. He can play it too safe at times and is too concerned with retaining possession, he needs to take more risks.
He lost his place because he was injured, no?
On second viewing that wasn't that bad a penalty really. Excellent save from Pereira!
Old Trafford looks so strange that empty. Just imagine, this is what it would look like in the Premier League if it was City's home ground.
I think he might take more risks if he was playing nearer to the opposition penalty area. He seems to be playing really deep for some reason.
Not really, he got back in and started in the round of 16 against Japan, it was England's worst performance and needed penalties to go through, after that he was benched and England played better and he didn't get back in.
He was still playing with an injury and he was clearly lacking conditioning due to the injury and couldn't handle the heat in India. He was gassing very quickly and couldn't handle full games.
This is just so much better to watch.
