Probably some backroom staff members caught it, and our players must have tested negative thankfully.

But its so close to the game so positives may not have shown yet? Thats what makes the City game so strange, if that was the reasoning then every game with positive tests close to kickoff must be called off.

Imagine having to play the kids against Sociedad. Just don't lose 5-0.

How do you know no players have caught it?
Because the game is going ahead. Maybe the tests came back and McKenna and the like tested positive while the lads came back negative. The FA would surely have contemplated these things before giving the green light.

We could still be missing players it doesn't have to be all or nothing.

Surprised this is still going ahead. Hard to imagine some of the players haven't caught it.

Has there actually been any cases of players infecting each other during a game? Of course it's difficult to know for sure, but there have been a few outbreaks and it doesn't really seem to spill over to the team playing whoever had the outbreak.

Didn’t take long for the knowledgable folk of RedCafe to act under the assumption they know more about the impact of Covid-19 transmission at Manchester United than Manchester United itself. Do continue.

Even in rugby where players tend to get a lot more physical with each other positive players haven't spread it to other teams.

It's very hard to catch outside, luckily.

This sounded bad for a moment!

Hopefully it is just coaching staff, and we've dealt with it superbly and no knock on effects.
