Anfield was always going to be difficult, it was the Forest & West Ham losses just before that really fecked it - imagine that we played 4 league games in 7 days due to fixture pile upGod it was.
I was only six but I can remember it vividly. My eldest brother (fourteen) was utterly crushed by the Anfield loss.
Somehow though, it made what came next all the sweeter!
Especially because we just beat Forest at Wembley to win our first ever League Cup - losing at home the week after was not in the scriptlosing to forest 2-1 at home on the easter monday was the killer blow for me. I think it was Scott Gemill got a late winner for them. I knew then Leeds would win it. Never felt so gutted as a united supporter as I did that season
