Another United game, another mediocre performance...this week Colm (@Duafc) and Imran (@Annihilate Now!) check their mental health following the disappointing 1-1 draw vs. Everton. They talk about our midfield, squad rotation, our midfield, substitutions, our midfield, Ole's management, and they also touch on our midfield.

Cheers bro! I felt a lot better afterward :wenger:
Hehe yeah it is quite cathartic to get ones thoughts out through a microphone.

It is certainly a weird time as a United fan.
On one hand we all love Ole to bits and are desperate for him to succeed. (At least though of us old enough to remember 99)
But on the other there is that creeping realisation that this is probably as far as he is able to take us and that we probably need someone else to take us the rest of the way.

Good show. I would say the other time when United dominated a period of a game (other than the time referred to which was against Southampton) was the beginning of the second half against West Ham when they looked lethargic after their Europe League match and Ronaldo should have scored after bad pass. We also had consecutive corners in that match and did nothing with them.

I am beginning to wonder if we should have retained Axel Tuanzebe as an option and played him as a defensive midfielder? I am sure he has played that role before. He also possesses recovery pace and would shield the back four.

Good point at the start of the episode about how United affect weekends. I was at the game this weekend and it actually affected me less than if I was just watching at home where I can just get fuming about the performances, and frustrate loved ones about how much I go on about it

I thought we were alright in the first half, but Martial was annoying because of his constant stopping of the ball and then turning inside for a pass. The one time he didn't was when he scored. Lost count the amount of times Shaw made a move to overlap and the move has been thwarted by the stopping of the ball from Martial. It's a problem with Greenwood also, too many times wanting to be on the ball and waiting too long. The real problems I have with our play are how we pass the ball in possession, lack of penetration and also the tempo at which we play, it is far too slow too often.

We need a midfielder. I love McT but man, it's just more and more apparent we desperately need one.
