United in advanced talks to confirm Betway as the new training kit sponsor

It’s sickening how low the club will go. I thought it was bad enough how they mishandled the Greenwood situation only to desperately backtrack, now they can add profiting from gambling and endorsing homophobia to their list.

The club is running on fumes. We'll get a sponsor from Satan if needs be.

What if a player refuses to wear the shirt with betway on it, for moral or religious reasons?

You've just set yourself up for disappointment though. The club have never claimed to be better than having betting partners, but you expect them to be?
When they were negotiating for new sponsors about a decade or so ago they turned down an offer from Mansion because they didn’t think being sponsored by a gambling firm was appropriate.

No such morals now.

We are owned by the Glazers and Ineos and people are crying we have a betting sponsor. We are not morally superior than anyone else, get over yourselves!

We can be. All we need to do is kick up a fuss and they‘ll reverse course. Let‘s start a petition. Any other ideas?

I don't get your point. The idea is that we could be, and that many fans would like us to be, which is why there's a debate.

Which makes no sense because they've been sponsored by Betfred for as long as I can remember. In fact that might even be the real reason.

Are there any rumours of a new sleeve sponsor?

As much as sponsors usually look ugly on kits, our sleeves currently look a bit odd with a large, empty gap in the Adidas stripes, where the sponsor would usually go.

Is buying training tops even a thing? If so, why? What occasion is it used for?

What about Harry Maguire’s forehead? Huge amount of blank space there that’s just going to waste, when it could be monetised.

Its the way football works nowadays sadly and has been a while now. We have stopped being different to any other club a long time ago.

In terms of not accepting certain sponsors, when have we ever been any different to anyone else?
Where do we draw the line? I guess there isn‘t one, they‘ll accept any sponsor they can get away with.

Maz and Diallo, both Muslim, were wearing the Betway logo pre the Saturday friendly.
Both are facing criticism. Here‘s some excerpts from social media:

“Mazraoui once refused to wear a rainbow-themed Adidas jacket during warmups (with United then stopping all players wearing them) citing religious reasons, yet here he is happily wearing a shirt with a betting sponsor despite his religion forbidding betting. Interesting, that,” another fan commented.
“Mazraoui has no issue with the betting sponsor hypocrite,” another supporter replied.
To be clear, gambling is expressly forbidden in the quran.

The parasitic yanks hadn’t pillaged through the clubs finances in full at that point and we weren’t a CL yo-yo club either, years of sporadic CL qualification and horrific financial management means we simply aren’t in a position to be as selective as we once were

I don‘t agree. It is just very disappointing. If we continue to go in this direction, I might no longer support this club.

Looking forward to hearing from Mazrouei on this, given he wouldn't wear a vest in support of the LGTBQ community due to it being against his religious beliefs. The same religion also forbids gambling.

He can be sold for all I care. I like him as a player, but homophobes can sod off.

"By aligning itself with these companies, Manchester United inadvertently endorses and amplifies this destructive behavior."

Do you have a problem with them selling beer in the concourse? What about pies? Awful lot of podgy blokes who united are tempting into an early grave with these half time delicacies.
