Haven't bought a shirt in over 10 years, but i glad i won't have to look at Chevrolet anymore, it looks so ugly.

Anyway, i am guessing Lidl or Aldi next..
Or maybe even Poundland if we continue the way we are.

Seems like the articles about United expecting to exceed the value of its contract with Chevy on the next deal are probably pushed by United insiders to make suitors sweat a bit.

I'll be buying the first United kit that doesn't have the Chevy logo on it.

The last one I bought was the Kagawa checkered one. Back when we were good. :(

Still don't think we're exactly going to struggle to get a sponsor.

Companies aren't just looking at who wins the titles, they're looking at who gets the most exposure.

Even a crap United get infinitely more coverage than champions league and league winning rivals!
Yeah. Look at how much exposure the Man Utd vs Arsenal match got, almost none of the sports journalist bothered to tweet about it. Except for one who said it was a waste of time

Has to be some sort of History brand, ‘BET 1999’ or some other shit the harps on about the past.

The 1st thing that sprung to mind was Lindelof’s agent saying Barca wanted him.

Never heard such an amount of garbage.

Chevrolet are in Business a very long time and to say a deal sanctioning outgoings of millions of dollars Wasnt ratified by the board is absurd.
I worked for GM when this happened.

Ewanick wasn't sacked because the sponsorship deal happened or because it was too much money. He was sacked because he structured it as a series of smaller, separate deals, in order to have to go through fewer levels of approvals. That's a huge compliance no-no.
To be fair that sounds in the same realms as this
Chevrolet were never going to renew. They didn't want the sponsorship in the first place. The bloke who set the whole deal up got fired because he didn't seek approval from the upper management before agreeing to the deal. He also didn't even agree that Chevrolet would be title shirt sponsors. It was seemingly only an agreement between the parties, most probably on the basis of United not wanting to severe the deal and lose out in the long run, that they would become title sponsors.
So not entirely garbage. Real garbage would be this;

I heard that when George Miller (also known as GM) wanted to buy a castle in England to make him seem more cultured to his bourbon drinking friends at the ol' snake hole he sent his personal accountant, a man named Mr Glazer to scout out possible locations. Three months later Mr Glazer came running into GM's office and gave him a list of three options - Buckingham Palace, Ravenscraig Castle in Fife, and for some reason a sponsorship offer for Manchester United. You see, unknown to anyone Mr Glazer was in fact a man called Mr Glazer who owned a team called, you guessed it, Manchester United.

Mr GM, a vegan who would never own a place with the word "ham" in it, nor did he have any interest in a castle in Fife (because it's a shit hole), he decided to investigate this "Manchester United" and see what they did. So he sent his top envoy to check them out, giving him only one simple rule to follow; make sure that the logo matched the colours on the soccer franchise's uniforms.

Another member of staff for Mr GM tried to warn him that this would be a foolish venture and recommended he return to his original plans and simply build his own castle near his lakeside apartment in Yellowstone National Park. Mr GM told this man to shut up and awaited the conformation from his envoy that the colours would match. The envoy reported back that they did.

Once again, the other member of staff tried to warn Mr GM and reminded him that the envoy suffered from a very rare form of colour blindness that made reds and yellows look the same. Mr GM fired the man on the spot and signed a contract with the Red Manchesters immediately for $350 million a week.

The fired employee was filled with rage and vowed to destroy Mr GMs reputation as the biggest corn syrup farmer in the whole of Utah, so he built a time machine and went to a point in time where we could cause the most damage to the Red Manchesters.

And that man was none other than David Fecking Moyes.

Most of the other clubs in the league already have gambling companies as shirt sponsors - perhaps we'll go the same way.

We’ll be fine. The club is still a massive draw, specially in Asia, and if there is one area were Woodward delivers is in the marketing deals one.

Surely sponsorship is as much about exposure as it is being successful?
It's mostly about exposure. Success has almost no influence.

We're still the biggest draw in the PL. The only thing harming us is not making the CL every season - as that's the biggest stage for sponsors to get exposure with their logos and brands.

Used to be but EPL games get bigger audiences than CL games do on a more consistent basis.

It's still harming us compared to our EPL rivals, who can sell the exposure of both the PL and the CL.

But you don't pay in year on year? That's why it won't really harm us, it'll be more or less full price with clauses and incentives as it basically is now. Realising the full deal and not being offered it are two different things.

Not finding a big sponsor would be good thing. Losing money would change the boards mind. Loosing matches is ok, but loosing money would cause Ed some trouble!

From an aesthetic point it's great news for their disgusting impact on kits but financially I don't think it will be easy finding someone that can match their payments.
