They don't seem like a close bunch of blokes to be honest but that's not really an issue - on the pitch SAF's guys would walk through fire for each other but didn't seem too close off the pitch.

Our problem is none of them would put out a lit match for each other on the pitch, either.

Sounds like something stupid that the papers always make up when things aren’t going so well IMO.

being best mates off the pitch doesn’t result good performances on it. Cole and sheringham hated each other but still played well together.

plenty of other examples of players not getting on but being professional.

Even if this was true it’s nothing to do with why we don’t play good football I feel.

Shaw wasn’t invited because he eats all the pies

Lindelof didn’t go because the toilet is upstairs and he doesn’t like leaving the ground

DeGea went but was distracted and dropped his plate

Poor McTominay was like the mother, hoovering up all the crumbs

Lukaku was invited but didn’t go as it was a buffet, he likes everything on his plate

Martial tripped over the doorstep and got injured

Rashford tried to find his way but kept going down blind alleys. He’s still missing
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: brilliant!

Juan Mata was the senior player. He was very upset after hours slaving over a hot stove, but his intricate buildup leading to nothing.

Pogba came, but couldn't get a babysitter so had to bring Lingard along with him.

Daniel James was early, Matic was late. Fred tried to go, but got lost and ended up at the wrong house.

Phil Jones turned up without an invite and was last to leave - he has a habit of hanging around and overstaying his welcome.
Also brilliant I nearly choked at the not getting a baby sitter for Lingard bit :lol::lol:

Ole tried to arrange the table plans but they weren't set up in the arrangement he was used to and so everyone had to stand in the corner

Mike Phelan wasnt allowed in due to turning up in shorts so not meeting the dress code

Ed wanted everything kept to budget so the team were only allowed McDonald's

Would you be surprised if the senior player was Lingard and only Rashford, Pogba, Martial and Shaw turned up? I'd find that perfectly understandable.

I don’t fully agree. Good morale/team spirit can be fostered by team building. IF this story is true it tells a story of a squad split by personalities who don’t like each other. That’s worse than a couple of old pros like cole and sheringham working through their issues

The article said the players didn't show up because they thought it was inappropriate to be seen celebrating after a weak performance against Rochdale. Nothing about a lack of unity.

Can’t say I would be surprised if there was an “every man for himself” vibe going on. The level of sporting ambition at the club seems starkly discrepant to outside expectations, and the players are caught in the middle.

Must be a terrible work environment. At least they have their millions of pounds to keep them company, while they endure the misery of modern day United.
All they need is giving interview with a sad face. Most fans would lap it up and forgive them.

It could get worse before it gets better. It could go sour with Pogba (won´t sign a new contract) and Matic think he´s good enough for the first team. And not young and British. Ole should also sign foreign players, to have a balanced squad. Balanced between British and Foreign players. Not 28 British players, and you and a Swede.

Most likely a load of bollox, you can see the effort from the players, they are just not being deployed to attack enough.
