5 United players + 2 of our ex-players in the England squad to play on Austria on the 3rd September and Luxemburg on the 6th. These are England's final WWC23 qualifying group matches, they need a point against Austria or a win against Luxemburg to go through automatically - otherwise there's a bit of arithmetic involved.

Meanwhile Thorisdottir and Boe Risa have both been left out of the Norwegian team. Norway are currently 3 points ahead of Belgium in their group and are favourites to go through. Vilde has been told that she needs to be playing regularly to get a callup and that she should be thinking about leaving United.

Spain and France are already qualified. I won't read too much into their team selections, but I am expecting some of our players to be in those squads.

The Netherlands are still in a fight with Iceland to qualify automatically. Scotland and Wales are in playoff slots (so are Ireland, but we don't have any of their players right now) so I'm expecting to see call ups for our players in those teams.

Martha Thomas is in the Scotland squad.

Jackie Groenen is with the Netherlands.

Aïssatou Tounkarais is in the French squad

Hayley Ladd, Safia Middleton-Patel, Carrie Jones (on loan at Leicester) and Chloe Williams are with Wales.

Spain have called up Ona Batlle and Lucia Garcia.

Grace Clinton and Maya le Tissier are with the England U23s, as are Emily Ramsay and Tara Bourne who are both currently out on loan.

Fair to say - next week is going to be quiet in the women's area of Carrington.

England beat Austria 2-0 with goals from Russo and Parris to qualify for the WWC. Russo, Earps and Toone started - Parris came on as sub. Lauren James also came on as sub. Ebony Salmon was on the bench - maybe we'll see her get a few minutes against Luxembourg next week.

Wales won 1-0 with a goal from Carrie Jones. Carrie and Hayley Ladd started. The win means that Wales need a point against Slovenia to reach the qualification playoffs.

Other winners... Batlle started for Spain, Garcia came on as sub in a 3-0 win. Tounkara started for France in their 9-0 win. Both teams had already qualified.

Groenen started for the Netherlands on their 2-1 friendly win over Martha Thomas and the Scotland team.

Russo, Toone and Parris all scored for England last night. Toone (2), Parris and Zelem got assists. They beat Luxembourg 10-0 and finish the group with played 10, won 10 and a GD of 80-0.

The Stoke City stadium had sold out for the England match - but started half empty. The Park and Ride car park ran out of buses and the traffic jams meant some of the ones that did run didn't get to the ground for kickoff. That's despite people pre-paying for parking and bus at £8.

Carrie Jones looked good for Wales, and won player of the match in their 0-0 draw. Ladd played well too. That was just enough to get the team into second place and the playoffs.

Martha Thomas scored for Scotland in their 6-0 win against the Faroe Islands. They're in playoffs as well.

Netherlands beat Iceland 1-0, scoring in injury time to get top place in their group and qualify automatically. Groenen played the full match.

Ona and Lucia were unused subs last night, but Spain had already qualified, so I'm just viewing that as them having a nice rest before Saturday.

Tounkara came on for France in the 44th minute, when Mbock went off with what looked like a serious injury.

Norway topped their group and qualified but it remains to be seen if Marie Thorisdottir and Vilde Boe Risa can get back in the squad.

Adriana Leon has had a good scoring week with Canada. They played and beat Australia twice - 1-0 and 2-1 - Adriana got all three of Canada's goals.

So, a lot of them have had a busy week ahead of our game against Spurs. Let's hope they all come back fully fit - they should at least be coming back happy.

We actually have a pretty good squad and will be going into the season with some confidence. I have recorded the England game, sounds like Ella had a really good game. I saw that Adriana had got both Canada's goals, didn't know she had scored in the other game as well.
