US Airstrikes in Venezuela - Maduro captured

So can anyone explain what the Yanks are doing there or what their plan is? Oil? System change and planting one of "their" people as president?

Large explosions reported in and around Caracas as well as numerous sightings of dozens of US helicopters flying over the capital city.

Reports are pretty vague at the moment as it's obviously a developing story but it looks like the USA has started an assault on Venezuel,A's capital city. Presumably firing rockets from some of the large fleet of Naval vessels in the area and being backed up with helicopters carrying troops that are to be deployed on the ground.

The President of peace might just have started a war. Why? feck knows. Could it just be a coincidence that the Jack Smith deposition for his January 6th investigation dropped on New Year's Eve and clearly pointed heavily to having evidence of Trimps involvement as well as evidence of his sharing top secret documents? I expect oil is just a nice bonus at this stage.

Isn't Loomer and a bunch of influencers the only people with pentagon press access now? No one will get proper coverage of this.

Sorry took me so long to post this another one was created as I was doing it. Mods please delete or merge. Thank you.

All that.

Maduro being an illegitimate tyrant himself will be the casus belli presented to UN et al, whilst Trump will be tweeting "THEY FORGOT TO MENTION THE OIL" during the assembly.

 wouldn't be suprised if that's exactly how things will unfold

Will the EU put sanctions on the US like with Russia or just put out empty statements?

Have to commend Trump for not hiding his intentions anymore with these strikes, unlike previous presidents.

According to CBS News, Donald Trump approved U.S. military strikes in Venezuela several days before the operation took place, based on accounts from two U.S. officials speaking anonymously.

The sources said military planners initially discussed carrying out the mission on Christmas Day, but U.S. airstrikes in Nigeria against ISIS targets took priority. Subsequent strike windows opened in the days after Christmas, though the Venezuela operation was delayed due to weather conditions, with officials saying the military was waiting for conditions favorable to mission success.

You know the answer to that

It really is depressing that no one has the balls to even get and stop them. They'll do this and get away with it, no way Venezuela can provide any resistance and Russia getting involved in any way will escalate things to a much bigger war.

Trying to scare Maduro into running away.

If there was any doubt, it should be gone now. International order is a scam.

This is what happens when you let a country become the sole global superpower and suffer zero consequences, and then that country goes completely unhinged (well, not like they weren’t before Trump)

just saw a video of 7-10 US choppers going over the city, on the BBC coverage. I guess air defence was taken out pretty quickly?

I assume we’ll get some justification of how this is fine, actually from America and its allies?

He’s made it fairly clear it’s all about the oil for months but will no doubt witter on about drugs

Interestingly the last few things that they have done they haven’t ran straight to the press to boast

It's not about balls,it's about means. They are the most powerful military and economy in the world. China is the only power with the remotest chance of hurting them in a way that's anywhere near proportional to how much the US can hurt them.

EU cuckol... I mean, Coalition of the willing are in serious problem now. it will be bloody expensive supporting both Ukraine and Venezuela.

By supporting Venezuela do you mean public messages of support for the US in this long overdue operation in liberating Venezuela from that demonic dictator and the US' war on drugs? This is not going to be expensive at all.
