This would be my choice with emphasis on balance, skill and speed.

DDG (is there anyone better – quick reflex saves)

Rio (defender and captain)

Scholes (motor)

Giggs (linking up with Scholes)

Cole (goals, goals, goals)

Anyone improve on that?

I’d probably stick Chicharito in there to get them dodgy five a side goals you need all the time.

I think I'd go for De Gea, Ferdinand, Keane, Scholes and Rooney. Not sure if you would need a specialist centre back though.. maybe someone like Irwin instead of Rio, can't decide.

This but De Gea in, 5 a side goals, keeper needs to be good with his feet.
Exactly why I didn't include him, De Gea is shite with his feet

EDIT: You mean his reactions, not distribution.. Fair enough!

Barthez - I have him down as pretty badly underrated. Can see his agility and low centre of gravity working very well in 5-a-side nets.

Ferdinand - Class.

Keane - Won't stop. Will fight for everything. Much, much better player technically than I think he's remembered as, too. Don't think we need the long range passes or shots of a Scholes or Beckham on a 5-a-side pitch, and I think Keane was damn near as good in small spaces.

Giggs - Quick as a whippet. Ball sticks to him like glue. Eye for a pass.

van Nistelrooy - Can't think of anyone else who has ever worn a United kit better qualified to sniff out a little bit of space and bag a close range low finish.

De Gea - reflexes
Johnsen - quickest CB we've had?
Keane - engine
Scholes - keep the ball
Berbatov - hold the ball

Feet up at home.
Schmeichel in goal for certain - he'd rush out to the edge and be nearly impossible to get past.

Teams would be mentality scared and nervous before stepping onto the pitch against them. Would win before the match.

Barthez
Carrick
Mata Scholes
RvN

Barthez was good with the ball in his feet, and in 5-a-side he wouldn't be too small for the goal.
Why have a defender in defense in 5-a-side? Most our defenders have bad technique, use a DM instead.
Carrick is great at reading the game, good passer.
Together with Carrick, i think Mata and Scholes have some of the best football heads we've had, and you don't need to be really quick or able to tackle, just press them.
RvN our best finisher, together with Ole, but better to hold the ball.

Subs: Johnsen, Becks, Cantona and Schmeichel.

Schmeichel. Better than De Gea for a 5-a-side — quicker off the mark, better control of the box and communication.
Rio. Our best ever CB and probably the most skilful with the ball; McGrath/Stam as a sub option.
Scholes. There were better midfielders (Charlton; possibly Keane/Robson), but no one was better at retaining possession.
Cristiano. In his time with us, especially in 2006/07, he was the ultimate trickster — and a fantastic goalscorer to boot.
Cantona. Genius touch, equally capable of scoring and assisting. Always expect the unexpected from him.

Schmeichel
Rio
Scholes
Cristiano - Cantona
Giggs would be brilliant as well.

He had the most command of his area but De Gea is better on his line and VDS was better with his feet which is why it’s got to be VDS.

Peter was tremendous on the line. Especially from close range, which it is more off in a 5 a side... His close-to-body reflexes was out of it world. He was also the best to throw.
Peter would also almost block the goal because of his size

You need a keeper who is a nutter in a 5 a side team. Someone who isn't afraid to take one in the face. So DDG doesn't cut it. You also don't need a big defender but rather a defender who can also play football. Irwin just beats Rio. Beckham never stops running and Scholes is Scholes. Legend. Up front, who else but Ronaldo. The man is a machine and score so many goals...

Just the players I've seen, who may excel the best in fast tempo, fewer teammates, tight small spaces and smaller goals post width.
The rules are also more strict and more protective, iirc. So need more discipline players.

Schmeichel
Rio
Beckham -- Giggs
RVN

Subs: VDS, Carrick, Irwin, Pogba, Ronaldo
Best GK here is the in-your-face and noisy-dominating type so Schmeichel. Rio for his control at the back and skills on the ball, Beck for high energy, workrate, movements, long distance shooting and quick direct pass, Giggs for his magics in tight small spaces, and RVN the predator in small spaces and tight defense to finish.

(alt.) GK who can pass and organize defense well in 5 a side is useful so VDS. Irwin for his all-around efficiency. Carrick to defend spaces and passing skills. Pogba for his skills and physical abilities when on the ball. Ronaldo to always threaten.
