Rigged, that’s fecking rigged. Half of arsenals goals could have been chalked off judging by that decision. Scandelous.
 
If that's a foul then you should be disallowing every Arsenal set piece goal. Just a disgrace.
 
The inconsistency is incompetence. Ridiculous they call that when allowing them so much all season.
 
As much as I don't like it, the GK is being clearly fouled by two West Ham players.

The annoying thing is obviously Arsenal have been allowed goals from free-kicks from similar earlier in the season.

In isolation though it is 100% the correct decision.
 
The irony of this decision is that Arsenal are winning the title largely due to that type of contact against the keeper on set pieces. However, it was the right decision, whether I like it or not. Raya was totally impeded from punching the ball there.
 
If they can't be consistent. Just get rid of this.

You can line up 100's of corners, multiples of which have led to a goal that weren't called as a foul.
 
That's actually the right decision but in the context of this season, it's shocking. How have they allowed Arsenal to get away with that all season?
 
This season has been absolutely laughable. West Ham got denied a clear penalty at 0 - 0 last week as well.
 
This level of inconsistency is an absolute scandal.

If the goal is disallowed then the ref should watch the rest of sequence because there were many fouls happening in the box
 
Absolute shambles. They're undeniably the chosen ones this season to benefit from ridiculous inconsistency and double standards. Narrative narrative narrative.

Other than momentum not really. Even with a draw Spurs could beat Leeds and go three clear with far better GD.

Would be different if the score had been 0-0 though!

I thought it was a foul. Pablo with arm across his face AND Todibo pulling his shirt which actually wasn't apparent from the angles the ref saw. However why Raya choose to catch it instead of punching it clear is beyond me. Also think the reason he mishandled was more Hermansen running right across his eyeline as the ball came in.

Don't envy the ref on that one as that is such a subjective call at key time in game but I do think he just about got it right.
 
There's about 5 fouls going on in that box as there always is with Arsenal set pieces. You can't give that after what they've allowed this season.
 
Credit Arsenal for nailing VAR. Everytime you concede a goal you have to go down and make the refs make a decision
 
Oh! So blocking the keeper free movement inside the box is a foul? We were all convinced it was allowed, but apparently only for one team i guess

But people are right, if there is no consistency, there is no point to VAR. Get rid.

Such a good point. Looking forward to the highlight reel of Arsenal players climbing all over the opposing GK with no fouls being called
 
I think that's a foul. But it was also a foul on Bayindir against Arsenal and more recently against Yoro by DCL against Leeds for their first goal. I'm only citing United examples but I'm sure there have been tons of decisions like this not given. You either give all of those or you give none of those. The inconsistency is the problem and when one team is largely benefiting from it, it sticks out even more.
 
Basically a different rule for Arsenal all season which allowed them to add so many underserved points, and now when it's against them it's a foul. Honestly extreme incompetence.
 
That's a foul in isolation. I just don't get the double standards when it comes to reffing arsenal in both boxes. Or when Gabriel is fouling Vs being fouled.

Exactly this. Todays decision being the correct decision doesnt mean all the other decisions (Bayindar at OT) are correct.

What about the other fouls by Arsenal? Should be a penalty.

Those offences are before the goal.
 
Having once been an advocate for VAR, I’m now of the opinion it can’t work in football. There’s just too much happening in the big moments, where it’s rarely black or white.

If you attempt to examine every cross into the box, in slow motion and with a magnifying glass, you’ll find numerous reasons to give a decision one way or another.

The big issue with this is it opens the game up to manipulation in a big way. Under the microscope, it’s now in VAR’s hands whether a team gets relegated or whether another wins the league.

One might have thought VAR will reduce controversy, but it’s turned out to be the opposite. I imagine there would be less uproar had that West Ham goal stood, as per the referee’s original decision.
 
I know people are bitter over Arsenal winning the game. I am disappointed as well but that was a clear foul on Raya. Goalkeeper get extra protection and the West Ham player clearly impedes him.
 
Just scrap the whole thing. I'd rather we just got rid of it now it's too inconsistent.

Yoro got and elbow to the face and got told he needed to be stronger. They pick and choose what to look at.
 
You absolutely cannot hold onto the keepers arm like that. Excellent call by VAR.
