You absolutely cannot hold onto the keepers arm like that. Excellent call by VAR.
Unless you're an Arsenal player
You absolutely cannot hold onto the keepers arm like that. Excellent call by VAR.
Yep, and if they'd been making excellent calls all season you'd have about 30 fewer points. You absolutely cannot hold onto the keepers arm like that. Excellent call by VAR.
Conveniently ignoring Rice doing his trademark rugby tackles on corner.
You absolutely cannot hold onto the keepers arm like that. Excellent call by VAR.
Theres no one in here saying its the incorrect decision. Its the fact arsenal make these kinds of fouls all the time up the other end and they dont get calledYou absolutely cannot hold onto the keepers arm like that. Excellent call by VAR.
Anyone have a clip of the foul not given to us against arsenal?
Yeah thats right.
Its an obvious foul, but Arsenal have won a title employing this tactic
I know people are bitter over Arsenal winning the game. I am disappointed as well but that was a clear foul on Raya. Goalkeeper get extra protection and the West Ham player clearly impedes him.
This is quite right, and this particular decision may be the start of the end of VAR.Having once been an advocate for VAR, I’m now of the opinion it can’t work in football. There’s just too much happening in the big moments, where it’s rarely black or white.
If you attempt to examine every cross into the box, in slow motion and with a magnifying glass, you’ll find numerous reasons to give a decision one way or another.
The big issue with this is it opens the game up to manipulation in a big way. Under the microscope, it’s now in VAR’s hands whether a team gets relegated or whether another wins the league.
One might have thought VAR will reduce controversy, but it’s turned out to be the opposite. I imagine there would be less uproar had that West Ham goal stood, as per the referee’s original decision.
Hes in the second phase of it because the mob around the keeper get the ball first though, although not sure if that makes any difference any more.
The VAR ref through the match ref under the bus. Cowardice.

I’d have no issues with that if it wasn’t for the fact Arsenal do it every single week and get away with it.I know people are bitter over Arsenal winning the game. A decision to hand the team the league or to send a team down.
The ref must have been thinking; "Feck sake, why me?"
Yep, they’ve been doing the same stuff all season.Unless you're an Arsenal player
But they decided to call it in Arsenals favour to hand them the title. Funny thing that. All the fault of the refs. They didn't call out these practices all season.
This. Took so long but a ‘clear and obvious error’. The cheats have prospered. The Arsenal keeper ran into the West Ham player. Meanwhile there are multiple Arsenal players wrestling West Ham players behind them. And name one fecking keeper this year that has been protected by the referees when Arsenal have been crowding them with 3 and 4 people?
That is quite simply disgraceful refereeing, and it took about 7 minutes to reach that spectacularly shit conclusion. VAR is not being implemented correctly and there needs to be actual consequences for dreadful refereeing, whether that's on the pitch or by the VAR.
The plus side to this is they are going to have to be a lot more clear about fouls in the penalty box next year I feel.
The Todibo shirt pull is worse than the Pablo forearm.
Who else thinks that the goal is given if it was earlier in the game but they completely bottled it because it was the end
Standing your ground next to the keeper and literally putting your arm across his face to stop him collecting the ball are two completely different things. If people think this is fine, show me footage of an Arsenal player doing this to a keeper and the goal being given. The Arsenal keeper ran into the West Ham player.
