Yesterday's goal was very vintage Vardy. Long ball over the top run off the defender, let the bounce, keeper's drawn out, lob it or bang it first time. They rarely make goals for him like that anymore. My favourite of his was the one he scored at West brom couple years ago, long ball from Mahrez and he let it come over his shoulder to hit it in bottom net. Their styles slightly changed over the years, now with players like Maddison, Tielemans and Rodgers managing its all keeping on the ground and through balls.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Why he isn't at Utd, with Rashford's contract is honestly a genuine conundrum.

We'd finish at least 10 points better off, and you know Vardy would jump at the chance.

Exactly. Vardy, even at his age is far far better and more clinical than anything we have had since Van Persie.

He's got a wicked reptilian greed for goals. See that effort at Sheffield Utd last week. Blasted it home with his wrong foot then cupped his ears in front of the home crowd, lapping up the hate and relishing the goal. We need someone just like that.
He thrives under the pressure, especially away. He played for Sheffield Wednesday in his youth and Sheffield United gave him, as he and we all expected, a dog's abuse, so it was written in the stars that he would score against them and then rub it right away under their nose. Same for Tottenham last season. Nothing seems to makes him more happy than the hate of away fans.

The greatest player to ever wear a blue shirt and an absolute living legend for us.

Kante is/was better than him, he just decided to get out quick.

Doesn't really change anything about his statement
He's not the best player to ever play for Leicester. Kante was better, he just gave them less seasons.

Kane is my favourite ever Spurs player, but Bale is still the best I've seen wear the shirt.

My favorite one of his is the great volley vs Liverpool :wenger:

We should have gone all out for him after that title winning season. He'd have sorted out our striking problems for the years since.

I honestly reckon Fergie would have bought him.

Rodgers has been in charge of Leicester for 17 games, Vardy has scored 14 goals, more than anyone else in the league.

Kind of goes against the argument that Vardy couldn't do it in a possession side/couldn't do it with extra pressure.

Leicester are one of the best possession sides in the league under Rodgers, and are currently dealing better with the pressure of going for top 4/6 than Man United/Spurs/Arsenal/Chelsea etc.

Doing very well under a very good manager, even though I cant manage to like him for some reason. There was never any question over Vardy's ability to handle pressure, he is one of the most composed strikers I have seen. Season is still very young and there is a lot of football to play.

He's that type of player that is loved by the fans of his own club, but hated by all the others.

That's why i've never understood why he has ever been given any stick for anything football related.
Gives you 10/10 effort everygame, scores well over 1 in 2 in the top flight (since his first season in the league) and is as loyal as anyone in the modern game.

For me he's the most 'adaptable' striker in the league, in the sense that he would still be as 'effective' at more clubs than say an Aguero.

Fantastic player. I think he definitely has a case to be the best English striker over the last 5 years. I prefer him to Kane.

I'd take Vardy at United along with their 3 midfielders and maybe Perez. Put with our defence and Rashford and Martial and also maybe nab Rodgers as coach and I reckon we'd be up there.

This lad deserves far more respect. I’ll hold my hands up, didn’t think he would be lethal 3/4 years after the title win. Well done to him.

Fantastic striker, especially if you use him in the right way. Rodgers is great at setting up sides with movement and pace. Makes it all the more baffling he decided to sign target men with us.

So far this season Vardy has one less goal than our entire team put together (Vardy 9, entire Utd team 10)...says it all really

Leicester just scored 9 goals in a single game. We struggle to get 9 shots in a game.

I love the way you have posted that comment, it comes across with just the right sincerity, lament and acceptance.
It, to me is just brilliant.

First time I noticed him was when he run us ragged and that was at least 5-6 years ago?
That was when LVG went ultra defensive, as he understood that our that our players were a bunch of pussies.
That day, Vardy destroyed all our defenders.

Why he isn't at Utd, with Rashford's contract is honestly a genuine conundrum.

We'd finish at least 10 points better off, and you know Vardy would jump at the chance.
Given his age, I doubt he'd cost that much and he would instantly be our best attacker.
But this would make too much sense. Best thing to do was to put Rashford on high wages and extend the contract of Mata (who is basically useless). Oh and let's not forget the contract given to Lingard, who refuses to score a goal. Imagine that...an attacker who can't score a goal.

It's actually quite laughable:

Vardy - 186 PL Games - 89 Goals
Lukaku - 252 PL Games - 113 Goals
The difference is that Vardy scores against top sides. It doesn't matter who he plays again, he scores.
Lukaku, specialises in scoring against low quality defences only.

Given Fergie's strategy of buying top quality strikers from English rivals (EPL proven), it is very likely that Fergie would've gone for him.

Yep Leicester still has some of the players that won them the League, which was more counter attacking than possession as it is now , and based on the development of this current team suggest that they will surpass the title winning side on quality alas due to the levels of Man City/Liverpool they shall not be rewarded likewise with a league title.

Yup, i know. Its not a dig against Vardy. It shows Vardy has a much better goal per game ratio and will probably reach 113 goals by 220 games
