Poor first half hour but after the two blocks you didn't notice him which is to his credit.

Go and rewatch the whole play before you call out others, you obviously have no idea what are you talking about. A ball comes across and Lindelof clears the ball low and straight to the penalty dot to a Bilbao player who shoots and hits Lindelof who "blocks". If that's a "reacts as best" some kind of an excuse for a pathetic clearance, don't attack fans of having hatred towards Lindelof.
Oh bore off. I saw the whole game. Why don’t you watch the attack before it happens. How about criticising how a player was on the right side in so much space and no one came over to him. The cross comes in and he sticks a leg out to clear and then blocks the other shot. Yes he’s not in the long term plans but some people on here are fecking pathetic.

Horrible, horrible defender. Don’t care about the block, the ball just hit him. Casemiro and Maguire had to bollock him multiple times in the first half.

Captain of his national team right? Unbelievable. Can’t wait for him to go. I’m sorry, he pisses me off so much.
I remember when he first became captain of Sweden I mocked that choice and was told by multiple people what a good choice he was. Time has melted opinions

So you think you are some holier than thou fan because you want to find excuses for a serial underperformer and criticize other fans when they state the absolute truth? They are pathetic but you, riding on the happy hours after we beat Bilbao, despite some absolute shocking mistakes by Lindelof think he should get credit since the Bilbao player, after being gifted a goal chance by the same Lindelof managed to hit the defender and fail to score?

Yeah but no, thank you.

I’m talking about one fecking game, his performance yesterday. No one is under any illusions that he hasn’t got a future here. As I’ve said before, we are disagreeing on what you say about the clearance. And calling me holier than hou but say anything others state the absolute truth, yeah right!.

You are so engrossed in your hate, you’ve got blinkers on.

Came in from the cold to play a tough semi final away in Spain. Helped keep a clean sheet whilst making a goal line clearance. Made 96 of 99 passes keeping it calm when we had the big lead.

Caf's response. "Shocking stuff from a hopeless player."

Sometimes I think we deserve everything we've gotten the past 12 years.

You were mentioning an important moment of the game, a moment he solely created by being an absolute crap CB like he has been the majority of his time here. If you can't understand the stupidity in that line than yeah, I really can't help it here.

Saying that he fecked up prior to the clearance, which he absolutely did, does not equal him having a bad game. Simple as. We played against 10 men for 2/3 of the game, I expect the defence to have a good game. He had 2 bad moments prior to us scoring, facts. He lost the ball and gave Bilbao a promising counter, which Nico Williams messed up by not playing the proper pass, and the clearance, which he then cleared off the goal line.

The way some of our fans constantly hate on our squad players is baffling.

It does happen when players are underperforming for a long time. Even when they generally have a good game, there is always criticism because of the past. Happened with Onana all the time last season. Being faulted for goal he can not objectively save.

Really hard to rationalise the player with the guy who chased down a thief and tackled him.

He's usually a good passer of the ball, when he does go for a tackle, he's decent, but his general play is extremely timid. For those who say he's doing his all, I disagree.

At least twice in his time here, he's pinged an inch perfect pass from defence to the striker, similar to Lisandro. So we know he has it in his locker, but because he plays so within himself and rarely takes responsibility, he rarely ever tries it (unlike Lisandro). Even when there we acres of space ahead of the WB last night, he just refused to pass it forward and passed it back.

How does he approach the game fox Sweden? I've wondered if it's perhaps a fragile mentality and his response to the pressure of playing at Man United: i.e. rather than be shown up, just avoid any responsibility and coast.

His nervy play yesterday was more akin to a kid learning his way around than a seasoned international captain

In the first 25 mins he looked very sloppy alongside Dorgu and Ugarte, kind of showed up players with low technical ability under high pressing. What really irks me is 2nd half he did not even try one ambitious pass, all passes just to the player right next to him, whereas the likes of Yoro, Maguire, Casemiro etc tried to build tempo sometimes ran with the ball to build up momentum, but him just passing responsibility to others which is typical of him. Hopefully with De Ligt back, we do not have to see him starting any match, just a useless, coward of a player all round.

Some lovely passes. Kept them very quiet second half by sniffing out attacks early on. Got robbed once but solid game overall. Saved our bacon when Yoro let Inaki have the freedom of the right side.

We are fecked if he starts in the final.

One of the most pathetic footballers I have ever seen.

For me he was decent most of the game, but obviously with few shaky moments that he always has. But only 4 games to go and you'd think he won't start in the final. Good servant but no doubt it's come to an end.

Could have got sent off I think, we maybe got a little lucky that VAR didn't take a look at that. He was horrible apart from that tackle too. I am happy that his contract with us finally ends this year.

That simple missed header from a long ball sometime in the last 25 minutes, man, you are a CB, you cant judge the flight and clear the danger?

Luckily he can't sit this window out with an injury.

8 years, 8 fecking years and it's finally nearly over.

Even against 10 men in Bilbao, his inability to pass progressively was on full display. Tonight it was more of the same.

Defensively, he is sound enough against a team with less pace, but he will get torn to shreds against Tottenham.

Mazraoui - Maguire - Yoro as the back 3 in the final please, and either Amad or Dalot on the right (if he's fit).

He's remarkably passive, seems entirely content to wait until the game forces him to take an action rather than doing anything proactively.

In particular tonight he stood and watched as Mazraoui tried to deal with a deep ball over the top and could only head the ball back towards Lindelof - had the latter made any movement to the ball he'd have gotten there first, instead he stood and watch as the Bilbao player snatched the ball and created a good opportunity.

Does my head in when freeze frames are used. He literally kicked the ball away and while his leg was swinging in the follow through he hit the opponents leg. Are we saying that players can’t follow through when kicking a ball in case an opponent moves into the path of the follow through?
