By all accounts a decent lad, sadly though a terribly average Prem defender.

Woeful going up for headers, doesn't have one outstanding attribute in his game.

8 years at the club. 8 years!

My fear is that he Maguire and Shaw line up as our centre backs for the final. To be fair, Maguire has done pretty well for the most part this season and was fantastic in the first leg against Bilbao but it’s a slow and not very progressive backline.

My hope is that Lindelof has a really good final game and helps us win the trophy with a low key 6 or 7 out of 10 performance and he leaves on a high note.

I don't know if this is purely his fault or just a problem with the way we build up from the back but he was so predictable in the last 15 minutes on the ball. Make him rush and he'll play a pass that compounds the pressure on us. He's such an unlikeable footballer because he's a responsibility-shirking coward.

Onana doesn’t help either, he hesitates on the ball and finally plays the pass he should have 5-10secs before leaving the recipient having to rush their pass more and so on.

Everything we do is predictable.

The weird thing is, we were building up play very well in the first half. Everyone knew what they had to do, knew the options they had and made the right choice most of the time.

It all turned to shit once Casemiro went off. I wonder if the Chelsea players were told to up the intensity once we made the subs because they were more intense in their player immediately after Garnacho and Ugarte came on and we looked like we couldn't handle that and conceded soon after.

Wasn’t as bad defensively as he could have been. Not very good with the ball though.

It didn’t help that we started to hoof it to Hojlund and he couldn’t trap a bag of cement. Chelsea just kept recycling the ball and coming at us. Rinse and repeat.

Surely this 11 wasn't a dry run for the final, was it? Amorim can't be thinking of starting Lindelof in our most important match in over a decade. Not only is he a shit player, but he may have one eye on a move in the summer, with United (rightfully) offering him no assurances over a new contract. Amorim's obsession with fielding 3 CBs every game has put us in a laughable position going into the final.

Maybe I'm blind but thought he was decent. Last away match in league for United definitely. Would expect him not to start vs Tottenham but possibly to play whole game vs Villa before leaving. Same scenario possible with Eriksen.

I don't see a scenario in which he is on the pitch today. The back 3 should be Maguire flanked by Mazroui and Yoro, maybe Shaw if Yoro is not fit enough to go from the start.
If Yoro is back, I think that would put Shaw on the bench and we’ll start with Lindelof, Maguire and Yoro at the back. It worked well in the semis and was pretty solid. I also doubt Maz will play Cb but could be wrong if course.

His wife confirmed he’s leaving.

If he plays tomorrow that’s 284 appearances for the club. That’s…something!

I never thought he was a bad player but 8 years is crazy.

I liked him at times, but his time to go was about 3 years ago. A decent player, but that's about it.

Good riddance, should have been sold at the end of his first season, dreadful since day one.

Yeah, exactly this. A likable guy and a somewhat decent player that at the end of the day should have left the club years ago. It's a good thing that the "freebie" renewals seem to be over though.

The white Bailly in that he somehow lasted almost a decade here despite being shite.

Farewell, how we'll miss you backpedaling 40 yards as a striker runs at you.

Worst defender in our history compared to the number of game she played which is astonishing. Along with Buttner but he didn't play that much. Good grief. Absolutely no sympathy towards a player who cost us game after game with half harted effort and mentality.

He’s a good lad. Always tried his best and genuinely seemed to love the club. But his best has rarely been good enough. Hopefully the second half of his career is as a starter somewhere else.

Good guy I'm sure, but I won't be sorry to see him leave one bit.
