When he’s really gone then I’ll relax@golden_blunder he's finally gone.
Good summation and we have had so many of these types that have long outstayed their welcome. Hopefully Berrada is true to his word that after a year or 2 of underperforming its out the doorAlways seemed a very inoffensive lad, but clearly never good enough. The fact he's stayed so long is indicative of our mismanagement of players for a long time now. Hopefully those days are behind us.
Come on, he isn’t dragged out because he’s running backwards more often than notHe brings organisation to the defense and while boring maybe, he isn’t dragged out of his position. That’s probably the main reason why United conceded less goals when he played, compared to when he didn’t play. And probably also the reason why he was picked to start by so many coaches.

I am no fan of his, but it is the sad state of our club he is far from one of the worst.. remember Bailly, Falcao, VanDeBeek, Sanchez to name a few...I didn't even realise his exit was imminent. Low-key one of the worst players of the post-Fergie era. A pointless defender who excels at nothing, while having a fragile, timid mentality. Seems like a nice bloke though I guess.
Sad to see the way some of you lot speak about Lindelof. I thought he was a great servant; some obvious weaknesses but massively underrated especially in big games. Right for him to be going but I liked him and wish him all the best.
I don't know, I felt he shirked responsibility a lot. He had a really good long pass on him but almost always elected for the safe back or side pass giving his partners the responsibility to progress the ball, never wanted to go in and tackle early, would rather mark the 'space' hoping someone else would deal with it. I even believe when he did actually attack corners, he was decent. I feel he's a talented footballer but his passive mindset held him back. Could be the pressure of playing for United and seeing all Maguire had to deal with made him shrink. Not good enough but seemed a good guy. Never complained, just did his part whenever asked, even if that wasnt good enough. Some of the younger kids could learn alot from his attitude.
I’m astounded he had 8 years at this levelBeing a good servant isn't enough for some these days. Football hasn't made them happy lately so the pitchforks are out for any and all easy targets of opportunity.
As for Lindelof, I'm astounded he's only just 30 and actually played 8 years at United.

DisappointingEven more staggering is that Shaw is entering his 12 year at United this season.
Oh yes, I remember, I was quite excited. God, we're all gullible. Couple of youtube vids from Benfica days, and he's sold like a fresh bread.Remember being excited about him being "a ball playing defender" when we signed him.
Definition of a nothing player. Very weak physically, no leadership traits, always playing it safe.

Rojo & Blind had better technique, it's a bracket closer to Darmian, if anyone.
Remember that clip when he smashed a long distance free kick for Benfica? Thought he'd be a "baller" for us, turned to be as useful as a marzipan dildo .

Best of luck to Lindy. A very clever defender and had some huge games for us over the years.

Bailly was decent at times but could be very rash. His main issue was being injury prone though. If he could keep fit he would have been a pretty good defender for us.Jose traditionally knew what made a good CB. He signed off on Lindelof and Bailly - two appalling g defenders, who never had the right attributes to be successful at United. £30m a piece for them was big money at the time.
Awful signing.
