Victor Osimhen

Just to note, all salaries for footballers these days are negotiated as NET.

There is no “after tax” calculation to make. (For fans, anyway)

I can't think of any profession that salary is reported as net, gross is usually the norm because everyone's net is based on their individual circumstances. Well in your average jobs it makes a difference, I doubt it does much when your earning 100s of thousands a week.

200k a week, 80k goal bonus, 25k assist bonus, 50k champions league bonus. If he slots in 50 goals I'd be more than happy to pay him an extra 4m if I'm Ineos. If he believes he will be prolific then it should work for him.
200k a week and then 80k more for doing your job. Game's gone.

its starting to look like our striker search is going to go tits up this summer

none of these lads we're chasing seem that plausible, given our finances and the other positions we need to fill

to be honest I can see the window end up being a bit of a shit-show, we're relying on selling a bunch of half arsed cnuts on massive wages

It’s nonsense to suggest salaries are reported as net, because net is unique to the individual, as you say. Weirdly, it does seem like in Europe they report the net salary wishes of the players, though, sometimes.

There are still plenty of options out there so certainly not gonna write it off this early in window

You get the distinct impression that despite the high price tag Ekitike is above him on the clubs shortlist. I just can't help worrying that Sesko and Ekitike are gonna be like Hojlund. Mind you IF we could add Mbeumo to Cunha then pressure is eased on the main striker. I will happily admit I'm not just riding this train I am the driver, trying anything to convince club to make move for him.

I'm happy to take Mbeumo at this point and give ZZ and Hojlund one more year.

The feck? I step away and all hell breaks loose? Well Gyok, eat a dick. It’s Manchester United we’re talking about.

Next man up. Let’s the real Victor stand up.

I think a lot of these players are so blinkered or thick, it’s all they understand in their “mememe” world. All started years ago when Gullit named his price, which initially, didn’t seem too bad, until he clarified it with “netto “. Don’t expect them to understand tax rates.

If he was asking for 200k a month everyone would be in for him

You surely mean ”week”, as yeah, every fecker would want him on 50k /week

Once Napoli drop their ridiculous asking price to around 40-50m, that extra saving of 20-30m will entice more clubs.
80k euros /week over 3 years is around 12.5m euros, so the player could receive €220k wage and a hefty signing on fee to subsidise the loss in wage (he only has one year left on his current wage anyhow).

Right now, Napoli want a top fee for a player that has no future at the club, who is out of contract next Summer and who they gave a high wage to, it’s as daft as we would be demanding 70m for Rashford now.

Man I must have been pissed last night but I don’t remember writing that at all

Sorta impressed with my coherence I suppose but in my Sunday morning optimism I agree with you and disagree with dunk tarrou, again

What went wrong with him at Napoli? As in how did he end up on loan in the Turkish league? Apologies if this has been discussed to death already.

Got in fight with Napoli owner De Laurentiis, who is a character, to say the least, and feud lasted all transfer window. They got so carried away fighting, that all transfer windows closed, except for Turkish one and since neither side wanted him playing at Napoli, he had to go to Turkey. Galatasaray got very lucky :)

Got racially abused, said he wasn't keen on that, got exiled for it

Agreement to leave last summer. Napoli kept asking for silly money and moving goal posts with the price all summer and tried to force him into a move to Saudi

It's good question with many answers from being racially abused, to falling out with the owner, to Conte not wanting him.

A poster before said that before all this, Osimhen wanted to leave when Napoli finished midtable. If true then how would he feel if after a season we're midtable and no European football, does he want to leave and we have an unhappy player that wants to jump ship to another PL club, large salary and loan subsidy deals only on. We don't want another Rashford Sancho situation and need a player to help us get back in the CL places. Napoli in a short time are back winning the league and in the CL. Maybe he just wants to play in the PL and is attracted to United and Chelsea and will see out the tough times, it's down the club to speak to him and come up with a wage structure that doesn't leave us fecked again.

He seems keen to join us despite where we are and turned down Saudi multiple times.

Yeah completely buggered that one.

You'd have to think the asking price comes down to 50 mill and suddenly hes very attractive. If hes available at 50m on 250k a week hes a steal.

Yup.

The blame here is solely on Napoli, trying to get a top fee for a player that has absolutely no future at their club. It makes little sense, just pure greed hoping he’d eventually agree to semi retire early so they could cash in from Saudi.

Pity we don't know who out of us and Chelsea he actually prefers. Obviously friends with Ighalo but also knows Obi-Mikel very well too. Think they were close to signing him before he went to Galatasaray.

All we got was Ornstein saying not on the list in April, mind you back then Delap was top target
I am so desperate for this to happen and i try to give myself ANY hope for it but i can't find anything that we are even trying. Ornstein and one more journo said that we are not for him and that is basically everything which is reliable. Bookies also don't give us much chance.

I would take even Daily Mail story as something to give me hope. Yeah, i am desperate :)

Chelsea - his salary demands weren’t flexible to fit in Chelsea’s pay structure
Saudi - agreed salary (allegedly) but Napoli kept asking for more money so the Saudis pulled out.
Windows were now closed so he went to Turkey (only option available)
As for Napoli, allegations of racism so he wants nothing to do with them anymore

I think that sums it up

It's a no-brainer signing, if we can swing it. We could go from worst to first in the striker department immediately. And if it goes belly up, I mean, I think the process was still good. An elite player who's on the market at the position we're by far the weakest, and the weakest we've been in the entire time I've been watching Manchester United.

And you lads have to remember - the staff is coaching/signing for their lives here. For better or worse, long term prudence is out the window, these jabronis might be unemployed by November.
