Viktor Gyökeres - Arsenal Player

Actually, that was one of his better performances :smirk:
Yeah.

Very glad we didn't get him, but he was actually a bit of a handful today against Lisandro. Which sort of adds to the theory that he's only a threat when he has big physical advantages over his opponents.

He's a pestilence in the box, but clearly EPL is one level too high, Martinez was struggling but still contained him. Arteta probably like him for that havoc he brings to their weird box shenanigans.

I was so happy when he came on! He is so trash is actually frightening.

For some reason Arsenal keep buzzing off his defensive stats!

Now he cant score against us, time to state the blatantly obvious.

He is absolute crap.

When he went though, and I think the ref blew up due to a foul on Martinez - but he shot and he was going out for a throw.

He’s absolutely bobbins.

Shite footballer. He will be gone in the summer

I often get things wrong but something always felt off with this guy. As with Amorim, all achievements in Portugal can be totally disregard when it comes to top level football.

Mental he clears it away from goal. He had a 1v1 and came closer to scoring past his own keeper than ours. I bet Raya dived for that off camera.

I actually think there's a player there... but he lacks confidence and seems a little stunned at the level of expectation.

He made a positive difference for them today. But, he seems like he is trying to adapt to the Premiership.

I can imagine someone like Emery at Villa, getting something out of him.

I doubt his level is for Aston Villa, and it’s not like Emery has Villa playing champagne attacking football. Their attacking play can be very dull too. Someone with years of PL experience like Watkins could get a scoring drought. Gyokeres has no chance.

I don’t see him outside any PL teams bar City who tried to pass into goal, playing mostly on the ground.

This actually isn’t a bad idea. They need this title and he would be the nuisance and physical presence they need.
It's a terrible idea. He's another Lukaku. That finish today, fk me. Went clean through on goal, keeper stuck on his line, masses of space either side to just shoot about 70% into the net, pick your spot... he just faffed and dragged it badly, straight at the keeper. Awful striking.

Mind you, he'll bulldoze defenders back towards their own line at corners, like an American Football scrimmage fat lad, so Arsenal could find a use for him.
