Viktor Gyökeres | Arsenal Player

Check his heat maps, he already plays off the left. I’d love him to come in and play exactly where he played for Palace last season. And if the game demanded a touch line winger, he’s played there for both club and country over 100 times - or we just rotate in Martinelli for that particular opposition.

Eze and Saka on opposite wings would be mint.
His stats show him playing centrally 150+ times and the left around 45.

I appreciate he likes to drift but for my money he’s a central player.

You're totally right. It's never been done before Gyokeres, first time in history a player resorted to unsavory methods ;)

True, but I meant specifically these claims of agreements between club and player for specific amounts.

My point was tongue in cheek but I mean it's a tired trope. We are not like Spurs. We are the third most decorated club in England for league titles and it took an all time great like Sir Alex to overtake our haul and then overtake Liverpool's, and we have the most for FA Cups. You could argue had it not been for Manchester City's 115 charges blatant cheating which led to our squad been gutted, we could have won a few more.

Europe has been a massive hole in our history and I think every single Arsenal fan will admit we have been awful. But even just one CL would change things. People keep mentioning trophies as if we have never won anything, is what I was referring to.

Fair point, which like I said draws parallels between Sporting and Arsenal, as we're also the 3rd most decorated (in football. Across all sports we're number 1) in Portugal and our European pedigree is also weak.
That being said, with this being a United forum, you should expect to get heckled now and then ;)

So the deal is done.
I'm actually curious as to what's the reason for these numbers.
65 million, 764 thousand and 103 euros? Even doing the exchange, it's not a round figure (57.496.155£80).
Variables are 10.256.410€, so in all it's a deal potentially worth 76M€.
For a 27 year old, it's pretty decent.

I also like A LOT that Sporting won't pay anything for mediation, although I suspect Arsenal will pay him something.

AFTV are so cringe

We may be 15th at least we don’t have a fan cam like this.

These are guys who go to every match, home and away and did so before AFTV too. They're entitled to post cringy things as i'm sure most people on forums don't dedicate that much time and effort to their club imo even though I think some of it is cringy too

I appreciate you are dedicated to your club, but literally every top British media source has said there was a 60m euro agreement, including the Times and Athletic. I know you want to see some form of leaked text or email saying it.. which will never happen, but I find it a bit crazy you can't seem to see it being true when it's being heavily reported. And, of course the Sporting president won't admit it because they clearly wanted more money after seeing how the market was going.

I've said this many times, the president said his agreement with the agent was to not hold off for the release clause, it never had specific numbers in it.
A simple search will show you that the numbers changed during the months prior to transfer window, and since the main source of that news is a guy that's close to centikaya, given how many insides he posts from his players, you can believe whatever you want.
Even though I'm not a fan of him, I choose to believe Sporting's president because his explanation is logical and the agent didn't contradict anything he said.
I would also point out that after the president's statement, the claim "suddenly" became that it was Hugo Viana, the sporting manager that left for City in February, that made that "deal".
Before then it was simply the club. It was also reported a couple of times that the agent had proof of said deal, but nothing ever was shown.
But you tell me, if you were in the right and not lying through your teeth, would you give up your 6 million euro commission?

You would if Gyokeres threatened to move to another agent, which I could very much see that being the case. I struggle to see all the top British media running with this 60m euro number if it hasn't come from a good source.

Also, I saw this theory from a portuguese media poster that said it is all heavily linked to Jorge Mendes. It was as below:

'Suddenly, Sporting changed its position. Why? Because Jorge Mendes wanted in. Sporting still owes him money from previous deals. Mendes offered to sell Gyokeres to other clubs like Manchester United or Atlético Madrid for a higher fee. In return, he would take a 10% commission and forgive part of Sporting’s debt to him. He also promised to help Sporting sign players they were targeting, like Alberto Costa from Juventus and Luis Suárez from Almería.'

There is a lot more to the post, which I can DM you if any interest, but the whole story did make a lot of sense. Granted, no guarentees it wasn't completely made up.

80 times on the left and 16 times on the right:

The majority of our best wingers under Wenger (Pires / Ljungberg / Rosicky) were all naturally central players.

Again, going by his heatmaps rather than where Sky or BBC say he plays, I’d want him in our team playing where he plays now. He would connect far better with Rice at left 8 and Lewis-Skelly when he inverts to midfield than an isolated Martinelli does now. There’s no significant difference between how Eze plays and how Trossard plays on LW right now - except Eze would be a lot better.

By comparison though the same site has him 185 times centrally and that’s where the bulk of his goals and assists come from?

Not saying it can’t work but he’s definitely not a left winger per se.

Decent fee all in all, let's see how well he does.

I anticipate 25 goals max.
