As we have seen with City especially in the last decade+, the biggest club thing doesn't really impact the ability to pull the biggest talents after a few years. Look who they have had....arguably much bigger names than what the others have amassed including us.
He is more talented than all the midfielders you named individually bar Inesta. He never reached the heights of his talents in the end. Especially when he played for United in his peak whilst others had better players around them.
For a midfielder, he had amazing attributes - strong, tall, good dribbler, explosive burst when dribbling and a killer ball. His downfall is a whole another argument but the point stands he was seen as a big talent and superstar when signed.

If their meeting leads to a sale the 150M pricetag is a bit much. They could get 0 and an unhappy Vinicius signing for whoever in the summer.
If that’s in Euros it would be only £10m more than Morgan Rogers. And if you want a comparison with a top player in his last year of his contract, it’s only £35m more than the Harry Kane fee… and he was 30 years old.

What’s made this transfer unlikely from the start is that we’d have to convince Vini to leave Real Madrid at the peak of his powers. We were always up against the odds, but I’m still glad we’re exploring it as our squad is strong enough that we can target needle-movers rather than buying for the sake of it.
In normal circumstances I would want Vini to stay because he is scary good when he is inspired and has a functioning ecosystem around him.
But probably because he feels Mbappe is considered the player to build a team around at Madrid (instead of him), he is asking for way more money than Florentino is eager to pay him. He wants to be the star in the team he plays for and I cannot blame him for that.

Thanks. This was going to be my next question about future squad planning. We know Perez loves Olise for instance. The question then becomes does it make sense to tie Vini down for the next 4/5 years on a massive contract, if you want to target another star player Iike Olise in the next year or so?
