Vinicius | signs a new contract with Madrid

Has this ever happened before a player leaving Madrid in their prime not because the club has signed a shinny new toy and are looking to balance the books. A guy they'll rather keep but leaves.
I don't see it happening, Vini is using same tactic Rashford used to get that big contract from United when there was the PSG links. We've seen this before.
Vini going to Arsenal is going to a smaller club (with all due respect), Madrid letting him go and bringing anyone else in will be bringing in someone not as good. I expect soon both parties will find a compromise.

Neymar did it to Barca.

This isn’t as far fetched as people make it out to be. Granted Real Madrid have much more prestige then Arsenal, but Arsenal just won the league and lost on penalties in the Champions League final. When you add in all the racial abuse he’s taken in Spain and the fact that he can make more or at least the same at Arsenal, it wouldn’t be shocking if this move happens.

I mean i want him to go there. Truly. He doesnt fit them in any way shape or form. Let him go there for big money and wreck their wage structure. It wont happen though, sadly.

I don't really understand this, wrecking wage structure stuff.

At City, Haaland is on 525k a week. The nearest player to him is on 300k, which has been the case for years now.

If a truely elite player is on a decent amount more, it doesn't mean every other player has to be raised to them. But, that is on the basis that player delivers, which Haaland does.

The question is will Vini deliver in the prem. Not sure how he doesn't fit us? He does acutally have good pressing stats and work rate, and he is an elite winger which is what we desperately need.

Wasn't Haaland on 800k?

AS is saying Vini is nearing an exit, Sky thinks he's staying, Ornstein says it's 50/50. See you tomorrow for more incisive reporting !

I would be wary of signing Vinicius Junior. To me it is quite obvious that he would prefer to stay in Madrid. If that is the case, I would be worried about his motivation after leaving them. He has a huge ego and if things don*t go smoothly at his new club, things could go south very fast.
Immense player when motivated, though. That is beyond doubt.

The Championship?

He wont go to arsenal. And we should stay as far as possible away from this type of transfer anyway. Have you litterally learned nothing?

Because we aren't signing this nutcase? Strange.

It's more that there is a transfer thread on one of the best wingers in the world and were just not even in the conversation, we're mainly talking about a potential Arsenal transfer. Same with the Bruno G thread.

Considering no one else is in contention as well, maybe this isn't as clear cut? It's still very likely a negotiation tactic with Real, and even if it isn't, the wages and risks involved seemingly make all the teams bar one very reluctant to approach this

Well it would have to be the very top teams, due to wages. I bet a lot of teams would love to have a player of his calibre if they could afford him.

I do find it interesting that there seems to be more Spanish sources saying he’s likely to leave. Which would lend support to @HTG’s point…

If Real actively want the transfer.

Having said all that, I’d still want us to sign him if possible as he's world class.

Diomande to Real looking confirmed. Hard to believe Real would be spending that sort of money if the plan was to keep Vinicius

EDIT: Never mind, given the new updates of positive talks between Real and Vini, clearly I'm wrong and Diomande is planned in addition to Vini

And wasn't better for it. That was a rare scenario for Barca, for Madrid I don't think it has ever happened ever. This guy has won Two UCL in his time there, you think he truly fancies a club never to have won it.

Just renew his and sell him next season for higher value

Booooooo. Ordering a Tzolis shirt right now. I never wanted him anyway !

Really hope he goes to Arsenal. 1) I want to see him and PL and 2) it really would be a seismic shock that Madrid are losing an elite player in his prime.

Vinicius seems to have a pretty big ego. I wouldn't be surprised if similar to Neymar he wants to be the main superstar at his club. At Real he's behind not only Mbappe but probably Jude aswell. He's had a lot of problems with racism in Spain too. This isn't actually the first time he's seemingly considered leaving.

Not saying it'll definitely happen but I think it's more possible than most seem to think, primarily because he doesn't actually seem happy at Real.

With Ornstein's latest tweet we'll probably know one way or the other by the start of next week

Ramos all over again, what a surprise. At least it wasn’t us this time.

Well if the players choice is to stay but wants a certain salary but Madrid don't want to pay that salary and another team is willing does that mean they'd rather keep him ?

Please keep him real, the fate of football is in your hands

It’s funny how quickly the narrative changes. A few hours ago, some Arsenal fans were desperate for Vinícius Jr., and now that a move seems unlikely, he’s suddenly being dismissed as just an average player.
