The environment became toxic after Sanchez signing not before it, so he was a big part of such toxic environment anyway. This isn't an excuse for him.

Edit : It also was turning really toxic in his last days with Arsenal before joining us. The guy is just a big part of it. He wasn't hindered by such environment.
In 2017 Chile fans signed a petition and organised a protest march to force Sanchez to quit Arsenal for a better club, and it got into his head and he got stroppy to push for the transfer. He was very brilliant for both club and country until then.

The more I think about it, the more it's clear that his failure here was due to a combination of things

- Physical decline compared to Barcelona and Arsenal days

- Technical decline

- Both Mourinho and Ole weren't specifically interested in helping him adapt to their system

- Lack of willingness on Sanchez's part to adapt to the systems that these managers used

- Pressure of the fee and the wages

- Difficulty to develop a better on-pitch relationship with his teammates and possibly on a personal level aswell

When you put all these things together...

Yes, ultimately Sanchez is the one who should be criticized for his performances here, but the circumstances hardly helped.
