Watford Football Club (nicknamed The Hornets, The Golden Boys, Yellow Army, and The 'Orns) are a professional football club based in Watford, Hertfordshire; and were founded in 1881 by eventual player Henry Groverand as Watford Hornets, originally an amateur team that turned fully professional in 1897. After spending almost half century in the lower divisions of The Football League, Watford enjoyed its greatest era of success following Graham Taylor's appointment in 1977, rising from the Fourth Division to the First Division. The team also finished second in the First Division in the 1982/83 season, competed in the UEFA Cup in 1983/ 1984, and reached the 1984 FA Cup Final where they faced Howard Kendall's Everton. Watford's most prominent rivalry is with fellow South-Eastern English club Luton Town; and they have been playing their home games at Vicarage Road since 1922.

Not looking forward to it now. Why can't there be an international break now instead of when we were still optimistic? :)

I want a reaction. I want to see players fired up from the start. If we look lackadaisical in the slightest I will simply be baffled. Even disjointed is acceptable at this stage...I just want to see us desperate to score like in the Hull match at the end.

They were lackadaisical after getting beat by City at home, I dont think they care too much tbh.

I just want someone else to make these threads. Its a superstition, but if it works, i should be cafknighted.

On the game, think we will play much better. The full backs will be a big factor. Schniderlin, rojo, herrera, darmian, smalling, young and memphis all played for the first time today and you cannot except good rhythm yet. I think our poor pre season is a reason we havent started like city. We played far less games.
Tactical understanding from the team seems to be lacking yet with half players playing differently to others. For example, rashford pressing but no one following up. Smalling marking man to man, Bailly marking zonal. Hope these problems are solved soon. I think watford will try to attack us and hence we will be much more capable than today. Hope we change rashford for Ibra and the fullbacks only. Midfield and wide players need to remain the same as mkhi isnt back for another week. Hope rooney isnt selected i want to see united play 3 matches without rooney to see what we can do without him. 3 matches that we are at full strength team.

I know Mourinho said we will go back to our normal team for this but I'm not sure what our normal team is now tbh. Players did themselves no favours today. Almost all were poor. Anyway...

Will be a very difficult game, they will create us more problems than Bournemouth and Hull.

We are coming off two consecutive losses and I hope we win this game, because it seems like the international break has resulted in us losing our winning momentum and we need to find our mojo back. Seems like Mourinho's team always tend to go through a crisis when there's a defeat. We really need to win this to get back on track.

It was still a Europa League game. Players were either out of form or not arsed about it.

Yeah, I think this will be our team. More so due to a lack of decent alternatives, our wingers are so out of form at the moment. Hopefully these two can click.

I actually think we should play Rooney RM. Purely because anyone else there would be completely crap. I'm sick and tired of this Mata false winger experiment, at least with Rooney wide it keeps him away from midfield and he is actually a decent crosser of the ball.
The trio in midfield should continue though I suspect Fellaini will come in for Schneiderlin but that shouldn't effect the balance too much.

Jose might as well put the wide players names in a hat and pick them that way as none of them are playing well.

    We wont do it but I hope we stick with 4-3-3 and go with this;

Here's our past 11 games record against Watford. I know they are on a high but our record against them speaks for itself, I will be surprised we don't win. The last time we lost to them was back in 1985, a 0-1 loss and that was even before SAF joined us. I hope Mourinho don't break another "record".

Important to get back to winning ways. Need more creativity on the field but with Mkhitaryan injured it might be tougher. Shame. Anyway, what I would want to see but won't happen:

    Ibrahimovic
    Martial Pogba Mata Rashford
    Herrera
    Shaw Blind Bailly Valencia
    De Gea
Basically, we have the pace out wide, and our most talented and creative players in the middle to really control the game and open up teams. Problem with it is it looks weak physically so Mourinho will never do it and maybe not enough defensive thinking there, but putting Fellaini in there for Herrera doesn't really change that either and it just forces Pogba to go deeper as Fellaini isn't a creative passer in terms of spreading it around.
Actually maybe put Carrick in for Herrera there and it'll work. Rooney probably for Rashford out wide to start with but that's still fine. If fit, Mkhitaryan would go in Mata's spot but since he's injured put him there.
