Second leg of our QF and we've got some work to do. What we don't have to do is worry about the idea that they're massively more talented than us. They aren't. They do have a 3-2 lead after the first leg though.

In terms of players coming back - I know nothing!

I was expecting to see Terland, but when she wasn't even on the subs bench on Saturday I kind of dropped that expectation. As far as I'm aware though, we have no new injuries.

I'm leaving for Munich in the early hours tomorrow morning and despite the doom and gloom of three consecutive defeats, I am really excited for this trip and am cautiously optimistic about the game.... we are perfectly capable of nicking a one goal victory which would give us a penalty lottery and anyone's game.

Would have been nice to have seen some positive injury updates by now though.

A great city for football, interested to see how well supported Bayern women are

make the most of the pre-match - even under Fergie it was often the case that the actual match ruined a good Euro away !

Just a comment on attendances.

Their women's team home ground has a 2500 capacity and that's basically sold out every match on season ticket sales. Their best attendance to date was for around 57k for a Bundesliga match last September against Leverkusen at the Allianz. Their WCL group stage match against Arsenal this season had 15k.

Overall, I'd say they're not that different to us attendances wise - though we do have a much better "mini stadium." Early days and they haven't yet worked out how to handle that leap from niche interest to mass marketing.
 
At least we'll have Zigi back after her WSL suspension on Saturday.

Bayern bought it an will rent it back to Unterhachingen, who are currently playing there.
 
Made my pilgramage to Manchesterplatz this morning. I found it very emotional to be honest. Really puts all our grumbles and complaints in to perspective - we are lucky to have a football club at all.

I think it will. The youth and women teams were kinda stuck in the middle. The campus stadium is too small and Allianz Arena only makes sense for WCL from QF onwards and maybe selective league games.

No surprise to see the team. Thin bench as we knew it was bound to be, but George, Naalsund and Schuller are good backups for tonight's starters.

Hopefully with Zigiotti back in action and having had time to plan/replan our defence will be harder to play through. Not sure how the forwards will line up, but Park, Rolfo and Malard are all capable of getting us back into this.
 
Definitely a lineup, plus three good subs, capable of winning this thing. The only question mark is whether we have anything left in the tank.

Nice work from Hinata but Malard's shot too easy for the keeper.

A very good half. The big question is how much energy do we have left in the tank. Some players (understandably) look a bit tired already.
 
Looking comfortable other than marking Gilles on set pieces. Shes won a few. Tanikawa has overall done well linking the play with some nice passes but after that point Bayern havent found those final passes and shots. Other than set pieces its been quiet for PTL

Park has been quiet but fine when she has got on the ball, but Malard and Rolfo are looking dangerous

Unfortunately there’s not much we can do about it. Bayern rotated on the weekend so I’m expecting a much better home side after the break. We’ve only got a couple of subs available and I don’t think any of them improve the team.

Time to dig deep and hope for the best. If ever there was time for some dark arts and game-management to make it a slow tempo second half…
 
Is it ET and Pens if it's a draw?

I assume there is no away goals nonsense

First 25 minutes or so we ran the show really. There's always a time when the other team comes back into it so I'm relieved we managed to do the defending when we needed to.

Second half is a mystery though. Physical tiredness is inevitable, but staying mentally on top of things could matter a lot.

Jayde Rivière for example is looking a bit off the pace mentally as well as physically and was tiring as the half went on. Hopefully we can work round that.
