Our first ever match in the main draw of the WCL and let's be honest, we need a win. We've got some tough fixtures ahead and if this one isn't winnable then it's hard to see a match that is.

They won the Toppserien last year - in fact they've got 3 League trophies and 3 Cup wins in the last 5 years. In other words, they're nobody's pushovers.

I'm hoping someone is going to tell us who their key players are and who we should be concerned about - because I don't know them well enough. Though I can tell you that Olaug Tvedten and Karina Sævik are currently the top scorers in the Norwegian League.

I can also tell you that Celin Bizet used to play for them.

Match is live in many countries including the UK on Disney+
 
I was at the game with my kinfolk when Man Utd visited Vålerenga in Oslo the summer after the new batch got started. Vålerenga, my team in Norway, won 4-1 and gave Casey’s cubs an introduction to higher level football.

This time, after a concincing second game win against Brann, United will be favourites, and that makes me just so very happy, because Vålerenga is better now than then (yay!), and it reminds me of the fantastic progress made under Stoney and Skinner from the time we were blotches of people here and there dreaming of a real Man Utd womens team being treated with the same kind of athletic seriousness as the men’s team. I’m not talking about money now. I’m talking about wanting to have a real competitive team regardless of gender!
 
Saw them live against HJK in Helsinki a few weeks ago. They didn’t even deserve to win that game. We should beat them well.
 
Bizet misses the game tomorrow with injury but Skinner is hopeful she can be back already on sunday. Even the good old Galton has a chance to be back in the squad on sunday....
 
Arent Brann better than Valerenga this season ?

Shouldn't get complacent but this has to be a win

Uniteds UCL qualiy opponents faced off in the europa cup yesterday. Vålerenga should be slightly less good than Brann indeed, but not by much at all!

Taking my daughters to the match tonight. Is Pennington Flash the best place to park?
 
Just to say, I did watch some WCL last night on Disney+. I'm currently in France but I have a UK Disney+ account that I got as a freebie with my bank account.

As far as I can tell my account is the equivalent of the, "with ads, 1080hd" option on their subscription list.

At any rate, my UK account worked fine to show me the WCL matches I chose and I didn't even have to use location magic. So if you or someone in your family has an account of some sort, it's worth a try.

I always park there, there was only one game last year that I remember it being shut, and one we were pretty late to arrive and got a spot at the stadium (think it was the Newcastle game) as it wasn’t full.
For the evening games they often just open the barrier so it’s free too.

Is there any chance I can have your Disney+ pass and your bank account details? No? Oh well, I'll just slum it and follow the game on Ceefax.
 
I'm trying to decide whether to spend the bucks for Paramount+ to watch this and other WCL matches. Decisions, decisions....

Disney+ with ads sub is £5.99/€6.99 month. You can cancel the sub at any time. You're allowed two simultaneous logins.

I had decided not to buy yet another streaming service to watch football, just on principle. But as I got my account for free I'll be watching (barring tech failure).

Sadly @Demon Barber my +1 login has already been claimed by a family member...
 
I'm old, and used to love listening to United games on the wireless. Retro reds, we are here ...

Edit: I'm not missing this. I've just subscribed to Disney+!

Quoting myself here for context. I was able to sign up for Paramount+ (which covers the WCL here in the U.S.) for 60 USD for a full year -- so 5 bucks a month. I didn't want to sign up for another streaming service, but we've figured out how to juggle the others so we will save money on balance.

I feel all the Disney / Amazon / netflix all make it as hard as they can to find live sport on them in fact if you use the apps for BBC or ITV it's the same. As if they don't want you to watch sport.
 
Riviere playing more like a right wing than a right back at the moment - Park playing inside and frequently behind Rivière.

We've got the ball but not much going on in the penalty area at the moment.

Discovery as well, even though I only use it for sport it doesn't seem to care.
 
Is Maya now our first choice pen taker?!

I know she took one the other day but I thought it was just a one off to get her on the score sheet
 
Vålerenga defending deep and well. Sometimes we have it outside their box and then pass it back to the center circle again to start passing it around again at the back :D

It's showing up in things like the possession stats as well 74% - 26%
They're content to wait for us at the moment.

Another goal for us would help!

A bit of a sloppy start to the second half. A lot of room for improvement, especially in the final third.
