We need a striker.

Watch us recall Rashford and stick him upfront now….
Rashford wasnt banished by Amorim alone Instructions came straight from top he is not coming back even if Barca don't buy him he Will be loaned out till his contract runs out .

Could we look to lower leagues (here and abroad..) please? Riyad Mahrez, Semanyo, Watkins and Ivan Toney are a few names (and I am sure there are more..) that come to mind of players, picked from lower leagues, to quite, quite comfortably, become excellent players in the Premiership. David Beckham was sent to Preston. Kane played for the Orient, so these places can help nurture and develop genuine world-class talent.

We used to find and develop players at Manchester United, what has happened to that? Premier Leagues clubs have always done this..Andy Cole joined Newcastle from Bristol City. Jermaine Defoe was at Bournemouth. Collymore at Southend.

Tell me the last time Brentford, Crystal Palace, or Brighton have bought a 'big-name' centre-forward. I see few top No 9s who are primed and ready, we need to be far more astute in finding and nurturing talent. Of course, we should always be associated with the best, but we are missing out when you consider some of the names mentioned. And this season would be a perfect moment to do this, because we have few expectations.

Do you know who I think we should buy this January? Jarrod Bowen. West Ham are getting relegated anyway and he should be playing at a top club.

We've had a problem for years at United where the wide players see themselves as goalscorers first, then chance creators second. They will cut in and shoot rather than look to create for the striker.
Happens even now tbf but just not as much. Our 10s cut in and shoot alot but it's a valid way of getting us goals. Need the full backs to overlap to give us the 50/50 option of going down the outside or cutting inside and going for goal or a thru ball.

Good thing with low crosses and cutbacks is that even if they don't reach the intended target and are half cleared then you can follow up with another shot.

Issue with this is that in both Hojlund and Sesko we've already bought centre-forwards for development and lamented the fact we haven't had more experienced forwards to help guide them. On Bowen, I'm not sure we need a wide forward when we have both Mbuemo and Cunha who can play centrally already. I think Ole will likely promote from the youth to help supplement the forward line.

Yeah you can explain a lot of the reason why Striker is such a dead end job at United by just looking at the way we play.

My mate laughs at me every time we play West Ham, whenever he does something good I say “I’d take Bowen, he’s a United player” … sometimes he tries to say it before I do

And this is another frustrating thing, this regimented approach to where people play. For example, where does Cherki play? And where can he play? He plays off the right, but he could play anywhere off a target man, he's a good football player.

Manchester United had Tevez, CR7, and Rooney as a front three. I have no idea who was the No 9, who played off the left, right, whatever. Granted, they were special players, in a special team, under a special manager. But my point is, you don't necessarily always need such defined team structures. Bowen is a better forward than Sesko, anywhere across the front three. That is a fact.

Simply rotate the three.. Sesko is struggling, as Rasmus struggled.. so why pursue with them?

A front three of Mbuma, Bowen and Amad would cause problems for any defence in the Premiership. Supported by Bruno, Cunha and Mount (again, rotation..).

Bowen is ok, but we really do not need another right-sided attacker. Also West Ham are clearly not going to let him go now as they are desperately trying to stay up.

This is why we should be focusing on striker that can bring others into play rather than score 20 goals a season and no link up play. Otherwise we need to replace the whole front line.

You can win football games with Sesko as your striker. He's fine. He's not yet amazing, but he's had less than 10 matches in the Premier league (or close) and has shown enough in a system that keeps him hugely isolated.

What we need is a midfield that can compete, and allow us to actually pin back teams. Do that and I promise Sesko will be causing havoc with his size and the number of crosses and balls coming towards him in the final third.

I think we are fine until the summer then can revisit this depending on how Sesko does.

We have Sesko, Cunha & Mbeumo who can all cover 9.
