No one wants to say it because he has ability and cost a shite load of money, but it's more true than the thread saying the same about Lukaku.

Pogba is a playground footballer. Turns up to show off in games where the opposition are poor enough to allow us the luxury of him doing so. As soon as the team need him however, you can forget it.

He is more interested in inventing silly handshake routines, showing off, and wanting people to look at his hair, than he ever will be in working hard to help his team win a game.

He has the selfishness of a Gerrard or a Ronaldo but without any of the desire, determination, or basic maturity to go with it, and he's 24 years old. It is unlikely at this point he will ever grow up, and that means he will never be more than a liability in any game where it is important for him to put in work for the benefit of the team.

The idea some people have of playing him further forward because he doesn't work hard enough to play in central midfield is a nonsense...as if playing him in another position somehow makes it less important that he works hard. In a succesful team, every player works harder than Paul Pogba ever does.

The fact is that he is on a pedestal as United's best player, but when you look at City (i.e. the team top of the league), if Paul Pogba played for them in the same way he does for United, he would be told to either grow up or feck off. He wouldn't get close to getting a game for them unless he had a serious change of attitude. At United he seems to go completely unchecked for it because he can showboat around onceor twice every ten games, against the likes of Stoke.

Juve won several leagues with him played in his proper position, he works hard enough, he's fine when his task is to press higher up the pitch, not when tasked with being in a double pivot as he's positionally poor, but yes, we can easily win the league with him deployed in a properly constructed midfield, and he'll be a key reason.

Again showing yourself to be clueless. Pogba has plenty to improve on no doubt but this thread will come back to haunt you.

He has reached Euro 2016 finals. CL finals. Won Serie A whilst playing for Juve. I'd say he's probably one of the more experienced players when it comes to knowhow of winning silverware.

Neither of these statements have any sound logic or thought behind them other than "they just played a shit game". Flat track bullies are necessary. In fact most players play significantly better against weaker opposition for incredibly obvious reasons. Might want calm down a bit after a collectively shit game against Spurs away.

Where is the white text mate, he had one bad game. A player can mature, but he cannot be taught how to be talented. And Pogba clearly is. He simply needs to cut that circus around him, and come down to earth a bit.

She broke my heart, So I broke her jaw.
Was thinking something along these lines today but moreso with Jose in mind. He loves the 4-2-3-1. His spell in Spain clearly changed him as he was more or less wed to 3 (or 4 at Porto) in midfield. Madrid being more or less dominant in 95% of matches meant 4-2-3-1 would work more often than not. United haven’t got the players to make it work.

Either United need to build the team around Pogba and his strengths, with all rounder midfielders behind him, or sell him if Mou is to persist with a double pivot.

Nah the problem is how he is seen and how he sees himself. He isn't a central midfielder. I see him as the same type of player as Coutinho, de bruyne, silva, iniesta, eriksen, etc.. You would never play any of those as part of a midfield 2 especially not in a 4-2-3-1. You want them to work hard defensively of course, but positionally they are clueless if asked to play that role. Pogba thinks of himself as a central midfielder like Modric or Kroos or something, but that's not the case at all. He's awful at playing as a proper central midfielder. In fact he's awful at anything involving playing in our own half. He's an attacking midfielder and can be a terrific one, but has a lot to improve.

Of course, the next issue is how good he thinks he is compared to the reality as you say. He has loads of talent but some awful decision making and looks for the headlines instead of the best option. Shit like away to Burnley or leicester when we have so many counter attacks that he leads and he either chooses to go alone, needing to dribble past someone once just to show off, or be the decisive pass instead of just playing the correct early, easy pass which doesn't get the glamour but is the best for the team. That decision making needs to improve for him to take the step up, but not only that, but how he sees himself as I said. Til then, we'll see shit like this against any decent opposition.

Multiple times plus reached a CL final. And France reached the final of the Euro’s.
Mou bought him and cant seem to find a way to get consistently good performances out of him. Thats the issue here.

Sounds like a slightly drunken rant. Slightly because it’s well put together so must have taken some thought.

Over the top though. Your opinion, but based on his history/what he’s done and how he has been playing all season...kind of a poor opinion in my opinion.

I should get Pogba's email and mail and send this thread to him. Then he did have reasons to prove OP wrong.

Yep. Pogba can be a terrific player. He has to improve as a player with his decision making of course, but it's all how he's used. If we bought him to make him into a Modric type, or long term Scholes successor, or a proper central midfielder, might as well get rid. He's not that and we'll forever be unbalanced trying to fit him as that. Mourinho needs to start seeing him like he'd see David Silva, De Bruyne, Coutinho, Eriksen, Iniesta, etc. He's an attacking midfielder who is best as part of a midfield 3 but being the most creative and attacking one of that, plain and simple. Anything else and our midfield will look mediocre.

What????
I understand people are frustrated after losing a game in such fashion. But we are still sitting in 2nd place on the table, last year we finished 6th? Maybe it would be better to stay away from the CAF a few days, turn the page, forget this game and focus on what’s ahead.

I don't think Pogba is our best player. He might well be our most talented player.

Mourinho should demonstrate to Pogba that he doesn't own a place in the team. If he performs poorly then he should be substituted. If he doesn't suit a particular game then he should be benched.

So far Pogba's contribution in big games has been woeful.

The likes of Lingard and especially Rashford, have put in impressive performances in some matches against top opponents. Pogba's most significant contribution came against Arsenal away yet he still managed to get sent off in that game.
