But Macheda has the best rate compared two how much they played.
Macheda made a goal every 237,8min he played.
Sanchez has made a goal every 272min he's played so far.

Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan scored more hat-tricks than Cristiano Ronaldo in the PL.

Yup. It's really not looking great for Sanchez.

This is weird. Or is the a case of the word AND being deceptive?

Is it AC > Ronaldo AND KN > Ronaldo?

    Or

    AC + KN > Ronaldo?

In less than 30 years as an independent country, Croatia have reached the wc semi finals only one less time than England in their entire history.

There are only two major trophies. Those teams who do not win them are not automatically bottlers.

Nouveau riche clubs saved the EPL! :p

But really, that's truly incredible. It made me laugh when someone people were arguing that City was killing the league via domination just before Christmas. They haven't even retained the league yet ffs, let alone achieving anything as mind-boggling as the above!

Owen, Yorke, and Hasselbaink finished joint top scorer for the 98-99 pl season.

Hasselbaink made a goal every 174,2 min on the field,
    Yorke-154,7
    Owen-140,2

    Solskjaer that season: 71,5. Haha.
And it's not like he only played a few games and went on a heater, he participated in half of the league games.

True, but I only added stats relevant to their discussion, I didn't start comparing their ratios.

    • RVN and Ronaldo never scored 100 league goals for Man Utd
    • Lukaku was voted in as part of the 2016-17 PFA Team of the Year
    • Rooney scored 10 or more league goals for United in 10 consecutive seasons (2004-15)
    • Thierry Henry made the most assists in the 2002-03 season with 20, ahead of Lampard, Scholes, and Gerrard

Burnley finished 7th last season and scored 36 league goals.

They're currently 17th but they're on 35, and have almost surpassed last season's tally with a number of games still remaining.

Barcelona got their colours from FC Basel.
AC Milan used to have a cricket team.
Neither United/Newton Heath, or Manchester City were the first Manchester team to enter the FA Cup. It was a team just called Manchester FC who are now a rugby club, they used to play both.

Capello even more. He won Serie A in 93/34 with Milan scoring the same 36. In 86/87 Como finished 9th and scored 16 all season.

In 1937/38 Manchester City scored more goals than any other team (80) and got relegated.

Shaun Wright Phillips won more caps for England than his dad. More of a travesty than surprising I suppose.

    That's a good one.

Ian Wright was undoubtedly a better player (albeit much different) but I'd say England were stronger then and he had more competition for places (First Lineker, then Shearer, Sheringham, and later Owen)

Yes that's how I meant it, based on talent more than anything. There was Ferdiinand, Cole, Fowler and Collymore to contend with at various times for Ian Wright too.

Wright Phillips had less competiton in numbers. There was Beckham who of course was a huge mainstay but he couldn't play every game. SWP had more versatility than his dad playing either wing or as an attacking midfielder/10. He actually started less than Ian and only played a full 90 minutes 4 times.

Also bizarre is the fact that they only won 5 of their final 21 league games...and those wins literally came in five successive games! Which is baffling.

Paisley had the distinct advantage that he was assistant to Shankly and merely refined what was already there. He also only had to beat average European teams like Moenchengladbach and Roma, whilst United had Bayern and all time greats Barca to deal with. No disrespect to him, Paisley was one of the first British managers to make possession count and beat Europeans at their own game. Great manager with the boot room as back up but Fergie had a much harder job, in that he had to unravel a Fat Ron’s drinking club mentality and only then, was he able to start building his own team from scratch. Paisley already had a title winning team that were recently champions. United hadn’t won it for over two decades.

It’s little wonder United and Liverpool are such close rivals, not only with their trophy hauls well in excess of anyone else but in Busby, Shankly, Paisley and Fergie the greatest managers to manage English clubs (with honourable mention to Sir Cloughie) and support to match. Both genuinely self made clubs and little wonder a lot of Reds have scant regard or acknowledgement for the Berts to such a degree that even us Manchester based ones would rather the pointless achievements of Ciddy than Liverpool overhaul us. As a fan who suffered their universally praised glory years, compared to our modern media/journo/fan with licence to seethe, as well as their support being totally patronised whilst ignoring their routinely cowardly knife attacks on lad & dads, I have plenty to resent but still, respect them for a genuine club that they were/are.

    I feel ill.

Sad to see where they are now...

Bolton have spent more seasons than any other club in the top flight without winning the title, they have remained in the Football League since its formation and have spent more time in the top flight (Prem/Old Div 1) than out of it.
